I've just got a new AO OC idea, Serpico, a baron for the Order of Aesir bc I wanted to make an evil bald dude characters for so long (since it's one of my fave niche character types) and I wanted to explore more of Order of Aesir's stuff.

Bringing him to life means I have an excuse to bring back Commodore Moonsilver and Lord Elysian from my retcon pits too! Congrats on coming back to life! These three would make a funny Aesir trio (in contrast to "Legacy Trio" consisting of Ben, Rita, and Falco).

Right now, the characters who will have Plot(TM) horrors coming after them are Charon, Arisa, Zero, Lumina, and Mordred... I might make little comic series for each of them. I know I'm being incredibly ambitious but it'd be really cool for me to draw them.

  • from the nothingness: a place where i dump pantheon realm's gods and stuff
  • tales of the undying: where i gather my immortals and just make them run through existential crises/immortal-related turmoils together. likely a place for me to process whatever goes through my mind while daydreaming about immortals
  • sacred earth
    • disembodied: toxic yuri trauma fest. mostly for me to play around with ideas of control/violence/hopelessness
    • haunted waters: pretty much a place for me to dump anything revolving my sacred earth's pirates
    • the blasphemous: for all the criminals and just odds and ends for sacred earth's cast. this one's more focused on the ones who are definitely going against the gods here. a storyline for me to explore stuff that strays from sacred earth's deities and their ideals
    • souls of earth: another sacred earth's odds and ends storyline but im shoving anyone who isn't actively defiant against the gods. this one is a tool for me to lean harder into developing magic system/religious or spiritual aspects of sacred earth

    • starless town: an attempt to write a murder mystery that turns into something closer to "cleaning up the messes left behind from that murder" instead of the mystery solving

Hmm. Maybe I could use this page to dump answers I've given to OC questions I answered to in other Discord servers... This one revolves around character themes!

Ben Adler - "How terribly far can love push you, as someone who lacks them?" The whole catalyst that led him to joining the order is out of his love for his family (especially Rita), despite him being the less protected and coddled twin between the two. He finds purpose in caring for Rita. And now that he lost her + memories of her, he redirected his questionable vision of love towards Morden instead. However, in this state (of being traumatized by the Order + memory loss induced by dissociation and physical factors), it drastically turns into an all-consuming obsession that eats him away. But after the escape, he's grown to love and care for his crew and friends, and they do pull him away from the pit that is his obsession with Morden! He's still in the process of figuring out his morals and codes and ambitions, using his love towards his loved ones as a guide.

Rita Faulkner (new profile page!) - "How would a deeply fearful person wield power (of violence)?" After the whole tragedy with Ben leaving for the Order and her family members being hunted down, she came face to face with her worst fears. However, she couldn't run anymore. She has to fight back. No one's protecting her anymore. So that's where her life as a mercenary + infiltrator began. It's a dangerous job, yes, but it gives her the opportunity to navigate and learn from War Seas' violence and politics, wielding tools of violence to use to fend for herself. Once she gets those powers, after living a whole life of being fearful and unable to do anything, she can finally pursue her ambitions of dismantling the powerful forces of violence behind the War Seas: with the Order of Aesir as her current priority.

Both characters are left neglected/isolated at some point in their lives, and now they're left to navigate the world on their own.

Now that I've gotten a better hang at mediums I've been wanting to get better at (writing and comicmaking), and cleaning out my art backlog, I think I'm gonna just... lay down more stuff for my OC storylines. I think it'd be sad if I leave some storylines neglected while I go crazy making comics or writing stories for stuff I fixate on, and now I think blindly chasing whatever my brain fixates on is putting me in a rut...

So I've started a little new project (for my backlog) for myself, where I'll try to add a new snippet between the characters in each and every storylines in APCverse and Seasverse. Wish me luck.

Today, I've put new snippets in Sacred-Earth-exclusive storylines, since I have more storylines in that world and these characters tend to be neglected by me.

• Disembodied (pulled muscle): This one was basically me telling my brain "random bullshit go" as I wrote something up for them.
• The Blasphemous (spicy food alter): This one was in my personal notes for this storyline. It's based on my actual experiences with spicy food as a plural.
• Haunted Waters (when the polite one starts cussing): This scenario too, was buried in my personal notes.
• The Souls of Earth (gadria lurk): Since its creation was so recent, I legit didn't have anything for this storyline, not even past ideas I've jotted down. So I decided I'm pulling out old gags from my brains and actually got to showcase character dynamics I had (even before this site's creations)! A and Gadria are some of the oldest characters in APCverse.

Update: Decided to work on Lands of Equinox today too! I took Ghost Chase out because I ran out of ideas and they already have a lot of snippets on hand.

• The Starless Town (Zzz...): Decided to take the opportunity to clean up the page too.
• The Unseeing Stars (lovey dovey): God I really need to do something with Lands of Equinox's angels.
• Legends of the Light and Shadow (death): Wow I haven't written jackshit about RegiZul.

• Decided to clean up/trim down my character count for Arcane Odyssey OCs... Right now I have two OCs I'm focusing on for Wine-Colored Waves and I think I'll try to keep it that way until I get an idea of a new character who can shake AO's narrative up...
• Added two more little dialogue lines for ValCiel!

• I've been fixating on my new AO OC, Rita. She'll be relevant in Wine-Colored Waves storyline.
• In the meantime, I've been toying around with ValCiel AUs a lot. I really gotta put some self-restraint on myself from creating entirely new character concepts, when I can make morbillion AUs and what-if scenarios of my existing characters...
• Also added a little "dialogue lines" section for ValCiel pages... I might be adding these things to other characters page too (and replace the randomized greeting lines I used to have, don't wanna rely on JS randomization when I can just have it all compiled in a logz). They're basically inspired by voicelines in (gacha) games. It'd be cute for me to add onto these dialogue logs, so I can keep coming back to them.
• "BNT what about your other OCs—" I've already planted them (aka. being written about on my website), so all I can do is wait for them to grow (aka. have them develop enough to poke something in my brain).

Ever since I started writing stories, I've always struggled at writing the midpoint in stories... The endings/lategame stuff are the most intuitive ideas to come to me, and they're the most fun to daydream about. However, if I put in the effort, I can carefully craft the story's beginning too (it's just doesn't come to me as easily as the endings).

Then there's the dreaded feeling where I struggle to figure out the ideas for the midpoints and buildup scenes. Maybe I gotta lock in to tackle this.

Cleaned up the pages for the gods of APCverse. Like deleting unused concepts/characters, migrating god pages that are mostly relevant to a singular world to that world's page, merging reassembled gods pages, and just cleaning up pages for the Gods of Nature/Mortality/Psyche/Possibilities.

Really making me nostalgic for the old lore I've written for these guys. Crazy shit has been happening in APCverse and it's not just the mortals.

In the future I feel like writing more of them, I'll be putting their stories in From the Nothingness storyline.

I usually try to assign my OCs speech patterns in Thai/Japanese (aka. other languages I know outside English) to give them extra nuance in their characters and word choices. English may not give me a lot of fun personal pronouns to use but I can pull this off in other langauges I know.

Though, if I have to explain this nuance, I'll typically use Japanese examples first bc I'm more likely to run into people familiar with animanga/Japanese culture (online) than people who know Thai. Kinda much quicker to just drop a "yeah this character would call the other -chan" than explaining what "น้อง-" means in Thai.

Ah. The big storyline cleanup.

I spent some time today adding more stuff to the APCverse storylines, while making sure I've put everyone in at least one storyline! (Mostly via expanding storylines' scales to accomodate others in the universe.)

• Duels and Dramas: Organized existing story tidbits into individual arcs/events!
• Defunct Machines: Basically a revamped + cleaned up version of An Abandoned Ark, which now covers all android cast and their associates so far. Not gonna limit to just Ark and her place, since I could explore more on these sentient androids (while the human support cast like Taden and Misery are being dragged into android conspiracies).
• The Unseeing Stars: Revamped + cleaned up version of The Stray Squad, now covering the other angels of the Lands of Equinox. They're in the same region so they're bound to run into each other and (explosion sfx)
• Legends of the Light and Shadow: New storyline for the Lands of Equinox!! Finally giving the ideas I have for RegiZul a home.
• Haunted Waters: Expanded the storyline's scope so they can have the mermaids participate in their storyline too.
• The Blasphemous: New storyline for Sacred Earth especially for characters I've been neglecting for years and I didn't have a place to put their stories until now
• The Souls of Earth: Same story as the one above. I'm so sorry Sacred Earth cast for neglecting you guys in the story limbo for so long.

"Why do you feel compelled to shove/group everyone together in storylines?" It makes it easier for me to imagine their stories, since I know the story's scale/focus. Also I find it much easier to neglect a character if they don't have a storyline they belong to.

Honestly, I've really overlooked a lot of the art of creating side characters or at least creating other characters for my characters to bounce off from... Not really something I'm heavily wired to do but every now and then, I have to be coldly reminded that my characters do not exist in a vacuum and they'll have to interact with others...

But auuuuughh I don't have a constant drive to pop out side characters unless I really care about their concepts... And I usually fixate on very few characters out of an extended cast......... Wah.

Anyways! I might be working more on side characters and the like as I work on my OCs' story... Look forward to more of them I guess...

Decided to give Valens Averi (!!!) and Alpse Rosario some fresh character refresh + cleanup... I'll be drawing new images of them soon... hopefully.

Anyways I had some thoughts about my whole plurality situation recently, but I didn't want to design characters specifically to represent myself or my headmates, then I realized I could just use Valens-Umber-Kylasia to play around while keeping a lot of stuff detached from my actual self.

Hopefully, I'll do more stuff with the people from Sacred Earth's Echoing seas. I've been thinking of turning Alpse-Valens-Astra-Ran into this chaotic criminal alliances storyline.

Frantically adding psyche sections to Alder, Damion, Valerius, and Cielo before I have to be away for a few days... Been cleaning up my OC to-do list the way I'm cleaning out my fridge.

Honestly, these sections are more for my reference (w/o clogging my own notes that may or may not become lost media faster than this website, and generally just forcing myself to parse these in somewhat-readable format). There's definitely a lot of room to stretch the characterizations (and room to add more nuances to their characterizations) but I need some!!! Anchor!!!

this had me thinking about these two so much again. i got an idea to make this bc i wanted to make arisa ruminate and think about her feelings... and now im just crying about their dynamics. my black cat x golden retriever yuri... arisa who second guesses her role in their dynamics due to her masks. charon who cherishes arisa a lot as a calming and comforting presence and would kill someone should something happen to her. if charon finds out the shit arisa has been overthinking about, she'd :grip: the shit out of her. it's like going back to one of my more vanilla comfort ship dynamics... ue ue ue

i can't wait to make something involving stuff that goes down in the wonderland arc. i love writing gay yearning and tension

organized the text dump in Fenrir's and Isolde's page! also added some stuff about their characters. added a little gay snippet to fenrir's page too. these two don't have solid story beats (like charisa and their ghost chase storyline) just yet but i'm still trying to make something... right now, these two sit in my daydreams where i mainly make characters kiss (instead of focusing on advancing the plot)... still figuring out what kinda stories i wanna tell with them outside of the gay moments. hype moments and gay aura or something.

new storyline for fragile dreamscape is out!!! peep Carol of the Miracles

fragile dreamscape has been quite barren since the last character wipe. however, i've been getting inspirations from magical girl shows + toku + other shows that run on power of friendship and the like... and i thought fragile dreamscape would be a ripe setting for these kinds of plots. so yeah! gonna try to write something like this but with my own preferences and stuff.

the transformation aspect will be there but i will die before i figure out proper outfit designs for these. im giving them regular ass fits for now

also making a website forces me to make my oc stuff more presentable/readable, which will be VERY beneficial to look back to. so right now, i'm using my notebooks more as places to brainstorm ideas, then this website as a place to display and archive those ideas.

any goals for this month's oc brainrot? hmm. i've been making arcane odyssey-related zines so i thought i could do the same with my original characters too. however, i don't really have a solid story laid down (unlike arcane odyssey with its own canon i can build from), so i've been working on adding the story and stuff to my oc's storyline pages...

i don't intend to publish my oc's story in a comic, novel, or other consistent format. as much as my sense of accomplishment would love those, i'm more afraid of "dying" without letting any of my story ideas come to life. i would hate to die without letting the whole world know about any of my oc's backstory. so yeah, even if it's in bullet points or little scene snippets, i wish to preserve them on this website so i have a more solid proof of my oc's story to return to.

so which ocs have i been thinking about recently? those from ghost chase (charon's narrative, formerly nicknamed as side narrative), realmkeepers, haunted waters, paradise's ruins vampires... what's funny is i did not think of mordben as much as the others, however, they kept striking me with sudden inspirations to make zines.

yeah it's funny how oc surname kinda reflects my views of names too. bc to get to know someone, i mostly only need their names (or nicknames in thai) so i know what to call them. however getting to know someone's full legal name feels more... intimate.

so yeah giving characters surnames feels... intimate. idk "omg i know their family name now" way

i don't really wanna overwhelm my memory with nickname-name-surname system so most characters will get "name everyone calls them by (and where nicknames are built on)" and "family names".

• ghost chase's narratives are now divided into two! the first one is now its own separate thing, with the main 7 (+ 6 stormchasers) running into misfortunes with sprites. the second new one is pretty much... charon and the twilight guild (also nicknamed as "dark lord organization") dealing with magimire stuff on a greater, scarier scale.
• when i put it like this, i kinda want to make the side narrative to have more horror elements than the main narrative... @charon good luck babygirl
• "so what's twilight guild/dark lord organization all about" they deal with magic/sprite stuff for the rulers throughout magimire, and they serve under the more primordial, magical entities in the continent. "this is just shameless ripoff from ###### ### but with fantasy flavoring" yeah no shit sherlock, people get inspired!
• "are the cast from main narrative and side narrative gonna interact" maybe??? they have a good chance to be each other's antagonists too, so watch out
• unhinged oc brainrot sentences that will mostly make sense to me. if you know what all these words mean together, i'm sending you compensation

• i hope i'll cook up shunya's and ekah's dynamics well enough that their dynamic scratches the batshit insane neurons in my brain
• thinking about arun and her future plotline in ghost chase storyline... she's becoming a brain chewtoy
• oh and you know how the main 7 characters were based on various (gestures) characters in ashverse? like my player inserts + the canon characters i yoinked? yeah the storyline was pretty much brought to existence bc i need a setting where expies of my yumeship ocs can frolick together and have their new narratives together
• "ok that's insane loredrop but why is that important" well. ariya x reagan were just created very recently, however, i'm already getting tempted to port them into ghost chase. also i'd benefit more from having oc ship variant of them too, bc i get very self conscious writing stories for reagan herself... i don't wanna horribly mischaracterize her (since she has a lot more established canon material than what i'm used to with my other faves whom i'm this insane about)

ok so reagan ridley (inside job) did so much damage to my psyche that she casually reignited the oc x canon/yumeship antics in me. here comes assorted thoughts about me and yumeship/oc x canon in general...

• technically speaking... ben adler x morden, kds x ben lumina, and averill x benjamin zero from arcaneverse/ashverse are oc x canon/yumeships too... though considering how far i've brought morden/kds/averill away from canon + time i've spent with these characters, they start to sit in my brain the way my ocs do LMFAO. idk if reagan will reach that point though, since i've been introduced to her show very recently... though whatever she did to my brain really reminds me of my first years fixating on morden... i'm never escaping yumeshipping/oc x canon aren't i
• honestly? if inside job wasn't canned and got the chance to end gracefully (or at least ended in a way that doesn't leave me hanging for more), i think i'd lose at least 50% of my motivation to yumeship with her... i wonder if i have a pattern, since most of the characters i've genuinely yumeshipped with either came from ongoing projects (think: morden from arcane odyssey, wataru matoba from argonavis project) or cancelled/abandoned projects (think: kds from world of magic, averill from arcane adventures).
• "i've never heard about wataru matoba on the site before??? what did he do to your brain" when i was actively following the project, i yumed with him with an oc and everything. however i lost interest by the time kimisute came out + the game got cancelled... and i don't think i'm gonna go back. i jokingly call him an ex sometimes. he's like an ex whom i'm pretty chill with + would be down to hang out as friends

something something... putting these characters (from the same archetype) in a scenario where they're playing a game with their partner (as in the character i usually pair them with). they're pretty good at the game and has a lot of advantage! so they get to choose whether they're letting their partner win

they're kind of losers in their own way and i want all of them

Alder:

• It depends on her mood that day. However, she generally leans on the direction of giving Damion a hard time winning against her.
• Should Damion miraculously win, Alder becomes a sore loser and whines about it and pesters her to play the game again.

Magnus:

• If given the chance, she will destroy Victor in any games. Out for blood.
• Should Victor miraculously win, she probably gets a rush from the battle and will likely challenge her to another round, or she ends up just wrestling Victor or something... Imagine a scenario where Constans/Therasia walks in and she finds Magnus headlocking Victor after a card game.

Cypress:

• She feels like she's go easy on Millie. If she actually ends up playing a game with others, she might as well use these as an opportunity to give them wins.
• Should Millie miraculously win, she's happy for her. Gasses her up and all that. (Cue Millie getting all self-conscious over Cypress praising her or something, since she's basically a tryhard in games.)

Valerius:

• As much as she feels like the type to go easy on Cielo (to me, at least)... she isn't actually like that. She is going in with a fight.
• Should Cielo miraculously win, Valerius gracefully takes the L. It happens. Then she looks at her fondly afterwards (as she watches Cielo go out for blood with others in the game) or something like that.

Hiran:

• Oh her ass is murdering Gates in the game.
• Should Gates miraculously win, she initially gets a bit distraughted at first. A bit of pride cracking moment. Then she pauses and stares at Gates before making a mental note of her habits. The type of mf to go "interesting..."

Fenrir:

• She too, goes out for Isolde's blood in the game.
• Should Isolde miraculously win, she immediately goes for another round. The battle is not over, junior.

honestly, valerius' fangs dynamics are kind of like disembodied cast but a little to the right.

• valerius = magnus (the powerful/charismatic leader who brings everyone together and has a fixation on the new recruit)
• tatiana = constans (the loyal companion of the leader. the closest figure to an official right hand man. outwardly stern/strict demeanor. not an active fighter of the group but works as support figure)
• matthias = therasia (the medic with unhinged tendencies, picked up by the leader due to their eccentricities and is placed in somewhat of a special spot in the hierachy where they can get their personal needs/ambitions accomodated)
• cielo = victor (the new recruit who has lost all prior to joining the group (and the loss may or may not be orchestrated by the leader). they caught the leader's attention and is swiftly brought to the group after the point they've lost all hope. also draws the attention of the other two members in this dynamic.)

i've just tweaked tatiana's overall demeanor in my head yesterday bc i've been stuck actually imagining her in situations, since my initial idea for her was "my favorite childhood archetype of the calm and demure character" and well. her being all like that and ending up in a negotiator/support role feel kinda boring to me...

It's kind of like... cleaning your house? Like I basically had to do the "does this spark joy?" creation to whether I still want to keep this character or not. I feel pretty mean being able to scrap story/character concepts this easily, but oh well. Sometimes I really need to do it for future organization/storycrafting purposes.

rating how the vampires deal with a child

• valerius: can handle and deal with basic needs of that kid. however she... wouldn't be a very great parent. she gets the kid's basic needs fulfilled sure, but emotional needs? ehhh
• hemlock: on a flipside from valerius. i wouldn't trust her to fill the kid's basic needs but she can play around with them and entertain them. emotional support wise... yeah i dont think she'd be a decent parent idk, that kid gonna end up with many issues too
• nightshade: same case as tatiana. she can deal with the kid (at the cost of having to hide the kid from her job and stuff, which may or may not affect the kid all the same)
• wolfsbane: has it in her to babysit them. not a perfect one but i trust her to take care of one for a while
• angeldust: the struggler
• cielo: yeah i dont think she would know what to do with a child. wouldn't really register the kid as under her care and will likely ignore them
• matthias: can play around with them and let the kid fuck around in her lab. 50% chance of the kid ending up in an incident
• enigma: same case as cielo.
• tatiana: can be the kid's emotional support and stuff. probably one of the most equipped people out of valerius' squad to care for them
• morticia: the caretaking tendencies are there, just a little. would quickly drop that rush and find the kid a bother however

• 1st row: dilf adjacent aura the ones with sharper and blockier features... a lot of them have some air of ~power~ in their aura
• 2nd row: the prettyboy (gender neutral) tier. the closest thing to ikemen designs i make. has some sharp features like the row above but it comes off softer and all that. also a lot of them has some sort of ~mischevious~ aura... hmm.
• 3rd row: they come across as pretty soft and cutesy to me, except they have some ~forlorn~ aura to them idk
• 4th row: a bit less softer than the row above and more leaning towards "looks like they've been through shit" direction. the ~stressed~ aura. distinctively more distressed looking than the 2nd row counterparts

this is about to be the funniest thing to really get my ass off the bed to work on. ok so this morning i suddenly got an idea to group the Sacred Earth's cast into their own seas. i have a bad tendency to group my characters into their own bubbles (to the point where my brain just freezes if the characters from "two entirely separate bubbles" have to form a solid narrative together), so hopefully this makes me visualizing their stories easier lol...

anyways, the reasonings for characters being thrown into each seas are nothing short of silly coming from me

• forest = whoever is in proximity of A gets thrown here
• wisp = "i need one person who end up here" (notices alder, who basically exists in her own story bubble with damion and ive confirmed that she came from entirely different place than her) "ooh i can go ham with pirate yuri in these seas..."
• echoing = tormented guys with something deeply wrong with them but idk where to put them in. so into the same seas they go
• abyssal = it's either abyssal mermaids or the moon cult beef. both exist in their own bubbles too but i see the story potential better than other bubble combinations
• golden = those damned expies (who started off as WoM OCs) whom i dont know what to do with them. but they should exist in their own bubble away from the hell that are my other ocs so ig i can just throw them in one of the more chill seas
• silent = im throwing rozen and their pupils here for magical girl inspired adventures yay

been fixating on my vampires and just generally trying to expand the cast + build the world around them... another month where my brain is gripped by oc yuri

oh yeah funny origin stories for everyone

• cielo: was created to be a main character to toy around with in a vampire setting
• valerius: came to existence bc i wanna add an npc to take care of her. then the yuri between them gripped me so hard that the setting rapidly expands beyond that point
• matthias + hemlock: came to existence during "the first character brainstorm sesh", and those two were the two fresh designs i liked
• enigma + nightshade: came to existence while i was sketching the "the first character brainstorm sesh" too, except i remembered i can just steal moonsilver's and elysian's design and have them thrive in toxic lesbian vampire fest setting
• wolfsbane: born from this thought/design experiment of "i usually dislike dark brooding men in medias. but what if i make her a butch woman?" then i ran with her concept
• tatiana: saw a character design i really like and i got reminded of my childhood type in women, so i created her with the energy that would've made childhood me swoon, with a sprinkle of my current taste in characters
• angeldust: i was jamming to some songs in my playlist that reminded me of lovel, and bam i wanted to add his character archetype to the setting too
• morticia: her character concept came banging in my window the second she heard i wanted to add a lovel expy. she is supposed to be mors' expy. (lovelmors is a funny ship situation bc i wanted to make lovel and shell at first, then mors' concept broke in my room and demanded me to create him. every ben expy is legally required to have their own morden expy or something, so that's how mors' overall character came off pretty different than the other morden expies. this also passed onto angeldust-morticia dynamics.)

• same story as morden idk, except with more avoidant gay yearning. also more self-destructive/reckless
• visits dawn island to pay respects to tucker, aka. morden's friend. before sailor's lodge story, he just rants about wanting to stop thinking about that emo. afterwards, he starts updating tucker on morden's status to tell him he's doing pretty alright
• would try to pursue morden way less than ben did in og storyline, though ig his current role like gayer morden
• oh and he'd pull up to morden like warren did in that one time and reveal he's actually called ben. morden just goes "oh cool 👍"

Morden, the Strongest Will of All Legacies (or whatever title they give the AO player)

• shadow magic, conjurer build (havent thought about what he'd end up using after retiring from his dagger)
• merciful storyline options
• despite his merciful storyline options, his dialogue/interactions in the story makes him come across as a bit of an asshole

Sanguine: If it's nice and warm and savory and at least somewhat salty, he's good. Can handle spicier/sourer food. Not actively eating lots of sweet but he can handle eating something really sweet (like idk Nutella) every now and then.

Melan: He has a pretty sweet tooth, and has a habit of eating a lot of sweets. And he's also the type to eat a lot of salty food and stuff. Way less spice tolerance than Sanguine, but he can still enjoy spicy food. And for sour food... he can have them every now and then as a treat ^_^

i barely kill characters off the story. and even then, i mostly use death to represent a character going through a big, irreversible change. characters can come back from death, yeah, but they're a changed person.

sometimes i get insecure being reminded of those "don't kill off your characters off for no good reason!!! it cheapens death!!!" writing advice. i see the point in that advice but like, death is kind of my shorthand for "this character goes through a heavy change" lol. my approach to death might change with my future works but yeah

oh and one reason i like messing around with life and death is that... the "coming back from death" plot device can also mirror a character dealing with the aftereffects from their trauma too...

on the topic of colors... yesterday, i grouped some Performer Duelists together based on their image colors just to see how'd their dynamics look like. it was a fun character exercise, to put characters haphazardly together and see if there's anything similar between them

the blue duo... cobalt crumbles the fuck to the pressure/energy from aes. does not match her level of energy/ambition. aes will likely be able to clock that he has very little passion for duelling. bad as teammates. though i guess cobalt has the ambition/dedication for his own goals, and maybe aes can sympathize??? cobalt became a duelist to search for ayren, and is willing to force himself to go against his nature/passion in the pursuit for him. aes can respect the dedication, even if his path is... one way to self-destruction.

the wlw and mlm purple duo. probably wouldn't get along like aes-cobalt too. lovel's too unserious, while luna's pretty serious. terrible teammate combination. but now that i think about it, putting them together is like putting luna and rayne together, except lovel isn't as skilled with duelling as rayne, so he gets extra shit points from luna. though i guess both are pretty self-reliant so there's that. they also serve cunt so that's a point higher than cobalt-aes

...I'd say they manage, if they were to be put together in a team. rai and serpent can lead, mors and jack can still do their jobs. the problem members are most likely mors and serpent, who are likely to skew with jack's morale levels. both of them can probably make her anxiety worse in two different ways. but there's rai, so he can probably tell mors to cut the teasing/sass, while... serpent's probably functional enough around these guys, tbh. eerily manipulative.

they're funny together, if anything. they have the vibes of someone who could team up for a stealth mission or an assassination. jack supplies the weapons, rai/serpent/mors can help with strategy part

oh god. the hydrogen bomb team. terrible team combination who probably runs on haphazardly made plans (but they're a funny combination to me). will probably cause at least once incident if they're together. like idk blowing up a place. rayne is the shit stirrer. vadios can become a shit stirrer under the right conditions (being put with rayne and having no taden around). shell has explosive personality. arine is normally alright but she will match the energy of the group, so she isn't helping with calming the group's eccentric personalities.

they've probably been kicked out of a place once for causing disruption. it's mainly rayne/shell arguing with vadios and arine adding to the fire. duelling wise, arine can adapt to these three's aggressive fighting style, so they can make a pretty scary team to fight with. or she can be the sole person who's all cutesy and appealing to others, while the rest are out for blood. it makes a funny image. trust me. imagine arine looking all cute and holding a big ass weapon then there's shell/vadios/rayne looking like they're ready to kill someone

now that i think about it, the group has a funny height difference too. vadios/rayne being the two tallest members at 6'2, then there's a stark height gap between them and shell (5'3) and arine (5'0)

wait omg i've talked about Ghost Chase's cast karaoke session too.. no rill and zero bc they've already been mentioned in this post

• neb - guy who has never been to a karaoke. doesn't enjoy doing it. their singing is like someone with zero passion/interest in singing. if the upbeat/romantic/etc kinda song comes up, they'll just snack while watching the other embarrass themselves doing it
• lumina - she tries!! she's doing her best singing!!! everyone's rooting for her!!! silver finds it cute while rill gasses her up
• silver - a little better than lumina since he's dragged out for karaoke sessions after his job sometimes. however he doesn't have any singing training just like her. lumina is the one cheering for him while he's singing (she will need some push to sing duet songs with him)
• adler - technical singing scores may be... debatable. however the passion is there and that's what karaoke is all about babeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (the type to sing so bad on purpose that it loops back to being comedic)
• mordred - nope he's not a fan of singing in karaoke settings. however he can try if pressured hard enough... struggles a lot. mostly sings if adler is singing with him too.

thinking about ALEPH and SERPENT...

i like putting them together bc first they're like. opposites. homotron9000 in two different directions. putting them together would make a het pair but it just feels extra gay. you know. gay^2 type situation.

second is serpent being willing to dirty his hands for aleph, while aleph being willing to do heavy work for serpent. so what does this mean? serpent is the one who's more likely to get himself involved with behind-the-scenes duelist stuff, and he's willing to do dirty work in those parts to benefit aleph. meanwhile aleph helps him cover his tracks. something something serpent murders while aleph hides the body. that kinda dynamic

third is. i imagine aleph to be the emotionally constipated type, while serpent is emotionally detached and stuff. since they've been friends with each other for a pretty long time, they also have this understanding where they can see through the other. and even if their emotions are buried too deep to be seen, they have faith and trust in each other to not leave them.

during serpent's disappearance (before his return to duelist scene), serpent was involved in a certain research project to bring something for aleph, while aleph takes care of the team (mainly shell) in his stead.

"wait so why is serpent doing all that for aleph. why" shared goals and dreams + aleph had a history of being involved in... crazy stuff where she got her hands dirty. so serpent—who has similar ambitions as aleph (or arguably greater than her)—entrusts her with less risky stuff he's up to, while he takes on her role, dirtying his own hands in the process.

this dynamic may or may not reverse in the future >_o

(if you assign madoka and homura to those two... aleph's the madoka. serpent's the homura.)

yeah this is still about Ghost Chase's cast. im just digging through my old chats with bnt2 to bring interesting tidbits to share here

"how much does the character exercise?"

• neb - prolly not that much tbh 🤔 doesn't do sprite hunting as hobby
• rill - he gotta stay in shape in some form doesn't he. plus he's a performer i think he def exercises
• zero - rill drags him to exercising too so he gets the rill bonus. less motivation to exercise like rill but yay he is physically alright!
• silver - his job is running around and throwing hands with the sprite. he has to exercise and stay fit. he can outrun a cop
• lumina - i'd argue that she may not exercise as much as some other characters? however she gets passive effect of having to travel around a lot + cleaning is a physically intensive work
• mordred/adler - ngl... i see them being dragged to pe classes a lot in school but didnt really exercise much otherwise initially. they recently picked up parkouring as a hobby + they also do sprite hunting as side gig so they have more motivation to exercise

if Ghost Chase's cast were to make a discord server of sorts, i see adler being the one making the server! so yeah he's the server admin who would abuse the perms (muting people if they annoy him too much etc etc), however the rules are pretty lax since he just treats it like a friend group server :]

• a lot of time zero lurks in the server, he might join in to reply to serious chats and stuff but otherwise he doesn't really join in casual chats. most of his messages outside serious chats is rill pinging him in the server and him going "FUCK OFF"
• rill's first priority is to supply the server with shitposts and stuff he finds. second priority is annoying zero (it's their way of flirting dw)
• adler is also the resident (shit)post sender. beats your corpse if you make a typo. inside joke inciter. type to screenshot out of context messages and send it to dedicated hall of shame channel (it's usually rill or zero). he also makes emojis of the members' funny images (with their consent) (yes this means he can hit you with :zerostare: in the chat)
• mordred is only there to ask questions/react to serious topics. occasionally seen reacting to adler's messages. will ghost you if people go "@mordred what do you think" in casual contexts (and he'll just tell adler to relay his answer if he deems it worthy of his attention)
• neb is.. idk casual chatter. not too active but is seen talking here and there. usually lurks but comes out of lurking to call someone a dumbass (usually adler/rill). usually seen ranting about stuff in the server too. resident hater
• lumina is pretty active in the server! joins the casual conversations and gets the ball rolling in serious chats. can become part time "resident server shitposter" along with rill and adler too
• silver is also pretty casual and lax about being active in the server. sends images/updates of stuff he's up to in his daily life. he's the type to go "good morning chat (happy emoji)" each morning (most of the server members usually tell him good morning back, even the lurkers. lumina is usually the first one to return his greeting + always replies each time he greets the server)
