FAQ
Who are you?
Short answer: A wanderer and daydreamer.
Slightly longer answer: I'm BNT (they/them), a 21-year-old hobbyist artist, writer, and a thing from Thailand.
Where else can I follow your art/find you online?
I've been updating (nearly) all of my latest artworks on my Monthly Art Archive.
- If you're here for my art updates, you can come and visit my latest month's archive anytime you want (or even bookmark this website)!
- Otherwise, if you want to subscribe to my art updates, follow my RSS feed for monthly recaps on your preferred RSS reader!
Alternatively, here's where I also post some artworks in other platforms:
- Tumblr: General art social media
- Twitter: General art social media 2
- Facebook: General art social media 🇹🇭
- AO3: For fanfics
- Art Fight: For the annual art event
- itch.io: Downloadables and more ambitious works
- readAwrite: For comics 🇹🇭
If you find me on sites not listed above, it's either:
- I simply don't feel like linking them here. If you find other places I'm active on, 👋👋👋
- Just an unused, old account that I didn't bother to delete. It's likely not used for anything right now.
What's this website about?
This site was created as an archive/display for my creations! From drawings, writings, stories, OCs, so on and so forth. More about the sentiment behind this website can be read here!
- I aim to make this site friendly to mobile devices (since I navigate this site on mobile too), so if there's anything that messes stuff up on other devices, please don't hesitate tell me!
- Unless credited (or linked) otherwise, I've created most artworks on this site.
- The site's birthday is on July 20th 2023!
I'm not as strict about other people taking inspirations/stealing code from my website itself. Feel free to snatch any code that catches your interest (and pray it works)!
Can I repost your art (drawing/writing/other artworks)?
Under these boundaries and conditions, you can repost my artwork!
I'd really appreciate if you do these!
- Credit BNTarwarn/BNT as the artist, and link back to this website.
- Acknowledge + make it obvious that the art is created by BNTarwarn/BNT.
I don't mind if you do these!
- Using my art as your profile picture or other personal usage for the art.
- Tracing/referencing my art for art practice purposes.
- Getting inspired by my artworks.
I will hunt you down for sports if you break these.
- Don't use my art for AI/crypto stuff.
- Don't use my art to create merchandise or profit from them.
- Don't repost my art and claim that you created it yourself.
- Don't use/edit my art for inflammatory purposes.
Do you take art commissions?
Not for now, sorry! No concrete plans to open it again either.
Assorted Questions
For questions and other stuff I deem less important than the ones above... The answers here are written to be less concise than the ones above, since they're pretty much for fun-fact kinda questions.
- For questions regarding my original characters and stories, check out the this page's question section.
- If you have a question not answered anywhere, feel free to shoot them through my guestbook!
Art program/tools?
When it comes to drawing, I mainly use Procreate! Sometimes I use Ibis Paint if I'm feeling bored, or I need the app for specific uses unavailable in Procreate.
When it comes to writing or idea organization, I usually use Obsidian to organize these. I have a single note for braindump (that opens when I open the app), and I migrate it to more organized sections in my vault.
(For better or worse, my workflow has been heavily influenced by those years I tried Bullet Journaling.)
What got you started doing art? / Art motivation?
My earlier art motivations were kind of everywhere? I'll try to list some of my earlier ones spanning throughout different years...
- I got very bored in class, so I started drawing a story to entertain myself...
- I wanted to befriend this kid drawing FNAF during the club hours. (And it was a club for school band! So it's extra interesting to find a kid choosing to draw cartoons between practices.)
- I want to make art for my ships. I was 12 and already in rarepair trenches.
- I wanted to draw hot men who's my type. (As my taste expands, this slowly morphs into "I want to draw whatever I find attractive at the moment.")
This ones are from my later years of doing art...
- I want my artstyle to be flexible enough to capture diverse human/character design features.
- I want to bring people some entertainment with my art.
- I want to enjoy the process of creating art.
Any art advice?
(I'm pretty much using this to share stuff I think people could find some use for.)
- Free art apps on mobile: Ibis Paint, Autodesk Sketchbook.
- Free art programs on computer: Krita, Firealpaca
- Making creative process enjoyable goes a long way. Like finding a brush you like, figuring out a workflow you thrive best in, identifying your artistic strengths, etc.
- If you need to do art studies to improve on a specific aspect or to try out new art medium, get your favorite character (whether original or in other medias) as your art subject. Or just go with your other preferred art subjects. It'll do wonders to your motivation.
- If you do have to trace something to practice, set a specific objective in your mind. (Like you're trying to get a feel on how an artist draws something, or getting a better feel on proportions.)
- Creating for yourself and creating for an audience are two very, very different things with different approaches. In this social media climate, this is especially important to figure out as early as possible.
- Create art in a medium you enjoy/respect/are passionate about/are interested in. Seek out artworks in the medium you're working with. It'd be difficult to write a book, if you don't read or even enjoy books in the first place, no?
How do you get started making an indie website?
Honestly? When I first started off with Neocities, I pretty much followed this guide to help me set up a site builder.
But if you wanted something more organized...
- Pick up basic HTML/CSS (and the willingness to pick up JS if you wanna add fancier features)
- Pick a free website host (e.g. Neocities, Nekoweb)
- Start coding a page. Get a website template to help you build a page if you want (e.g. sadgrl's layout builder)
- Pick up a static site builder if you wanna make site updates easier for you (e.g. 11ty)
About the site's contents
- The site's mostly for my artworks.
- ...So that's why the site's main sections are just Art Archive for my artworks, OC Archive for my character writing, Blog for all sorts of writings I'm up to, and the rest are stuff like about/link page.
- I occassionally have thoughts like making sections dedicated to my other fandom interests (outside that one game fandom I keep drawing for), but I figured I prefer to keep these private (or with my friends).
NSFW Content
It's definitely a small amount of my site's contents, but I have strong feelings about it.
- "Do you have plans to make a separate [thing] for NSFW?" No. They make up a very small percentage of my artworks anyways, so I don't have the incentive to keep up a separate website/account/identity for NSFW works. Also I'd prefer if I can just keep my NSFW artworks here (or share with likeminded friends).
- "But you still post them here?" God forbid an artist wants to draw sex for the love of the game, and likes their artwork enough to archive them.
- I've only started being brave enough to include NSFW in my site during 2025 birthday month (talk about the timing!). But I'm still too shy to make it super public and anything like that, so it stays in hidden tabs.
- Ideally, I want to make my NSFW art be a bonus treat for people who enjoy my artworks already.
Literally anything else about your life or online presence?
Basically a section I put other lore/opinions from myself in.
- I've been drawing as a serious hobby since 2015, and I started seriously writing fics + OCs around 2016!
- I have a weird relationship with being perceived online, and I'm not very keen on making myself popular/build a large presence myself. Maybe you'll find me in niche fan or creative spaces, and that's about the best luck you can have finding me around...
- I make my RSS take form of monthly recaps for my personal space and comfort, while keeping you guys a consistent reminder that I'm still up doing my own thing this month.
- Right now, i'm still finding my own art niche... Am I the gay OC artist? Am I an illustrator? Am I a comic artist? I'm not sure... maybe I won't be finding it anytime soon, and that's okay, I've given up on trying to appease socmed algorithm that forces me in a single niche anyways.
