Ayren: "Yeah, sure, I don't really fit into this whole duelist thing, but... I'm going to be the only one who will look for him." His best friend. His childhood best friend. The one he would do anything for, just to see him again.

- Arine: Ayren's little sister, and another good friend of his. The one he would do anything to protect her in the duelist work, and keep her away from his unrelenting search for Ayren.
- Sol: Cobalt often finds himself the target of Sol's shenanigans. Not that he minds it too much, anyway.
- Rai: Cobalt finds him intimidating. But they quickly warmed up to each other enough that they could confide in each other with things.
- Taden: A duelist who caught his attention, and one of the senior duelists he felt at ease with. A big inspiration.
