Psyche

To everyone else, she comes across as terribly sadistic and foul. To the ones who managed to warm up to her sour exterior, she comes across as quiet and reserved, who had no other purpose in life than to kill and serve.

After years of working under Valerius, her skittishness has mellowed down by a lot, with a more refined personality rather than a lack of it.

"How is your character's self image/esteem?" Abysmal. Would flinch or experience depersonalization upon seeing her reflection. The self loathing runs so deep that all she can really do is to become something else than a human. A tool. A pet. Something molded to serve her master.

she's always internalized herself as a less capable and desirable person because of this. she can't become someone "normal". she can't bear to follow what the human society expects of her. she would've been a horrid caretaker.
throughout her years as a human, she's been a career person to avoid being forced to become a caretaker when she's out of any other options. as she grows older, she gets more thoughts about leaving human society—which was why she ended up with lady Esther in the first place.
this is mostly why she has no fangs of her own + has no interest in gaining them. valerius has been trying to nudge her into getting one, but eventually gave up (for now).

little details about her

when cielo was still living with lady esther, she had very little personal possessions, claiming that she didn't have much interest in buying and owning things. after moving in with valerius, her personal possessions bulked up due to the things valerius bought for her.
doesn't really have any particular blood she prefers. as long has her master gives her the blood or tasks her to drink from someone, she's already content enough.
her laugh usually sounds like a soft, awkward little "hehe". and if you manage to make her laugh a lot it probably sounds more like "pfft hehehehehhehehehhehahahahehjwhahah" then she dies wheezing on the ground
despite her riskier driving habits, she surprisingly hasn't caused a car accident during her time as a vampire.

linguistic notes

In Thai, I imagine her personal pronouns to be rougher ones like กู (and usually calls others like เอ็ง/มึง). But when it comes to her masters, her politeness skyrockets and she uses หนู to refer to herself.
In Japanese, I imagine her to use 俺 by default. Certified Orekko. (When she's with her masters, however, I imagine she'd go for 僕 instead.)

How Cielo ended up with Valerius

Weeks after Lady Esther's death in an attack, Cielo had been sleeping in her former master's house and spent her nights recklessly attacking and drinking the mortal's blood. She had been turning down offers from the other vampires to take her in as their new fang. Grieving, she refused to seek out a new master and continued her aimless pursuit for blood each nights, neglecting her duties as a member of house Nocturne.

It was only until she was summoned to a house meeting, specifically one arranged by Lord Valerius—who told her about her former master's will to transfer Cielo as her fang, should she not seek out any new masters after a month.

As much as Cielo had doubts over the validity of the will, Valerius didn't seem like too bad of a choice. She was on friendly terms with Lady Esther, she had seen Valerius around before during the gatherings, and she didn't find her any bothersome to deal with so far.

Once she was left to speak to Valerius in private, Cielo found herself unusually calm around her, and eventually agreed to begin the transferring ritual.

After passing out from the ritual, Cielo woke up again in Valerius' place another night.

Their first moments as a master and a fang left Cielo disoriented—with Valerius pushing her buttons by bringing up her former master to test her, only to yank the leash with her newfound powers as her new master.

I suppose Lady Esther was right, when she said you can be so fiesty at first...

I've handled worse, don't worry.

Something about the way Valerius brought up her other fangs afterwards left Cielo unnerved. She had been accustomed to being her master's one and only fang for so long...

But Valerius reassured otherwise. Cielo would end up in a very, very special place in her fangs' hierarchy. One that Valerius reserved for her for years. (And one that left other fangs wary for Cielo's future.)

From then, Cielo's fate was sealed.

Takes place sometime when Cielo was under Lady Esther. She's currently in the middle of a gathering, and remains by her master's side.

Cielo, visibly exhausted and jittery, silently sat next to Valerius in her room.

What happened?

Oh, it's nothing much...

Cielo forced back her fatigue.

Did you drink enough blood tonight?

Yeah. It just... didn't taste like anything.

I suppose it's one of those low appetite episodes every now and then. Haha.

The blood she forced herself to drink left Cielo in a less than pleasant mood. Despite exhausting and numbing herself with the hunt, she didn't indulge in blood as much as she wanted to. Still, she had probably drunk enough to make it through the night...

Valerius then slipped a blood packet to her.

...?

This should be easier to drink. You look like you haven't drunk enough.

Valerius then left Cielo to her own devices in her room.

Cielo then had her last feeding of the night, taking her time to sip the blood so she wouldn't throw up.

At last, she had her fill and only had to wait for Valerius to return. Nothing more or less. Her work's already over for the night.

(This AU is inspired by Assassin Syndicate faction in Arcane Odyssey. In a way, this is essentially an AU of them in that game's world.)

initially started off as paladin build, eventually became something closer to savant who frequently uses strength-related techniques
has an ancient magic (apocalypse bringer magic) in her build, which is exactly why valerius brought ciel to her team. the second she heard of the news, she immediately dragged ciel into her lap (figurative and literal)
kind of cocky with her ancient magic + skills but also pretty submissive/objective-dependent.

Alternate Dynamics AU

Valerius and Cielo became each other's first master/fang and developed a strained relationship since then. However, Lady Vivian of House Nocturne has been slowly trying to improve their relationship...

This Cielo is a colder, blunter, more emotionally distant version who's averse to working under Valerius.
Unlike original Cielo's "fuck everyone except my masters", this version is basically "fuck literally everyone no exceptions".
She typically receives mission (forcibly) from Lady Vivian (who's powerful enough to hold her power over both Valerius and her fangs) and she often stays within Lady Vivian's controlled areas instead.
Valerius was the one who converted her to vampirehood, hence Cielo having Valerius as her first master. The aversion was developed from her consistently figuring out Val's reckless mind-control usage on her. (Note that Val is newer to vampirehood compared to her original self.)
Right now, Cielo aspires to be a stronger vampire who can win against Valerius.

She's like 5'10 tall (originally 6'0)
Usually defaults to :| resting expression.
She usually defaults to blander outfit choices, and has a preference for outfits that cover her skin than anything more revealing. Her default outfit is just a dark grey shirt (same color as Valerius').
If your artstyle allows you to, keep her iris shape somewhat narrow/sharp. Her natural eye color is black.
Eye shape roughly looks like an upside down triangle.
There are various stitches throughout her body with visible sews. Not exhaustively, they include:
- One across half her face.
- One across her jaw.
- One across her neck.
If you draw her before she ends up with Valerius, make her look less well kept.
