We are taught that “stable” means “perfect.” That if we are safe, our lives must look tidy, our emotions must be regulated and everything must go according to plan.

We often hold onto things - not because we love them, but because they are placeholders.

We spend so much energy calculating safety.

We spend so much of our lives standing in front of a locked door, staring at the lock, analyzing why it won’t open.

My body has carried a lot of shit.
