We Can Be Stable and Safe, Even When Things Aren't Perfect

We are taught that “stable” means “perfect.” That if we are safe, our lives must look tidy, our emotions must be regulated and everything must go according to plan.

But here is the hard, beautiful truth: You can be stable and safe even when you are emotionally messy. Even when things aren’t perfect.

Stability isn’t the absence of chaos. It’s the ability to stay anchored within the storm.

It’s knowing that even when you’re crying in the shower, overwhelmed by work, or feeling utterly lost, you are still safe. You are still held. You are still worthy.

I’m learning (and relearning) that my worth isn’t tied to how “together” I appear. My safety doesn’t vanish just because I’m having a hard day. In fact, some of my most grounded moments have come when I stopped trying to hide the mess and just let myself be human.

If you are feeling messy today, please hear this:

✅ You don’t need to fix yourself to be loved.

✅ You don’t need to be “good” to be safe.

✅ You are allowed to be a work in progress and a masterpiece at the same time.

Stability isn’t a straight line. It’s a deep breath taken right in the middle of the whirlwind. It’s saying, “I am here, I am messy and I am still okay.”

Let’s normalize leaning into our humanity. Let’s normalize the healing that happens in the cracks.

How are you showing up for yourself today, messy parts and all?

Much Love,

Cher
