Reclaiming my voice through Mrs New Zealand

Last fortnight I was blessed to be crowned Mrs New Zealand 2026 and Mrs Globe International 2026.

I’m a busy māmā, a product owner, a DJ, and soon-to-be a student again and I’ve been juggling it all. Not perfectly, but enough to prove that it IS all possible.

A lot of you know parts of my story. Breast cancer, coming through that, and learning how to thrive again, not just survive. Being told I might not be able to have a baby, and then having my miracle.

This pageant was never just about being taken at face value. It was a pageant with purpose. It gave me the chance to rediscover myself again and to understand the value of my story.

Behind the scenes of my past, it’s been heavy at times. I’ve experienced physical assault, had to relive that trauma, and been on the receiving end of smear campaigns. I lost my voice mentally and physically growing vocal nodules all in the lead up to a cancer diagnosis. When that hit, it hit me hard.

With persistence and determination I set out to get back the parts of myself I lost. It has taken years and years of set backs and a multitude of challenges but I am finally out of the pit.

I found my way back to who I am. I got my voice back. I got my strength back. And I remembered what I stand for. I’m so proud to be representing New Zealand, and I’m honoured to be stepping onto the international stage at Mrs Globe International 2027 with pride, passion and purpose.
