Heavy does not mean cold

There is an assumption we keep running into: that heavy materials — stone, concrete, raw plaster — are cold by nature, and that warmth has to come from somewhere else.

Someone walked into the shop last week and found three rope coasters sitting on the table — two with an anchor, one with a small sailboat, hand-painted by the youngest pair of hands in the studio.

Most of what we make asks for a wall, a shelf, a corner of a room willing to be anchored.
