What does anti-oppressive therapy actually mean?
As I’m still navigating winter, her in the UK, I thought it might be nice to reflect on five things that support me during this season.
This weekend I noticed myself feeling overwhelmed, a mixture of supporting two friends going through a fall out, filing my taxes, the food shop amounting to four days of meals but costing me what felt like it should be two weeks worth of food, juggling playdates, kid’s activities and listening to the news, with reporting on ICE to Palestine landing heavy in my body.
It makes sense – success can feel abstract, overwhelming, and sometimes intimidating, is it related to finances, or the freedom we have in our lives, or does it mean something else completely…..
Over the years, I’ve spent hundreds of hours, learning new therapy techniques, one of my values is learning and growth.
l Self-esteem isn’t built in a day, there won’t be a single moment of triumph or failure.
Walking into a room filled with strangers, there’s a moment where it feels like I’m under the spotlight, my body wants to recede and hide in a corner.
I was recently at a conference, where I got talking to a fellow small business owner, I noticed her straight away.
Friendships are among the most significant relationships we build in our lives.
