I have had the great privilege to visit many beautiful places in the short time I’ve been alive (most recently, Iceland and Yosemite), but from the moment I saw Lake Tahoe I knew it would always be a favourite, just like how I knew San Francisco had my heart as soon as the Uber ride entered the city*.

I confess: I love reading Wikipedia summaries of movies.
One of the shower thoughts I frequently have is why we are taught about animals as a kid instead of, I dunno, programming languages.

During summer camp (SHAD, in high school), one of the camp counsellors was telling us about how he quit his 20+ year software engineering career to become a wildlife photographer.
Waterloo’s SE Soc helps organize a talk every year for first-year SE students titled “What I wish I knew in 1B”, where a panel of upper-years SE students come to a class and answer their questions.
