The problem with financial modeling, you see, is that it depends a great deal on the future behaving somewhat like the past. A pro forma is simply a very large algebra equation where a great number of variables are assumed and held constant year-over-year—ceteris paribus, as they say—therefore you don’t model them. You don’t even mention them !
