Hello Style Pantry friends,

Last weekend we flew to New York for our son’s choir performance at Carnegie Hall. But if you know our family, you also know that any trip quickly becomes a food itinerary.

We stayed at our favorite hotel in Greenwich Village, The Marlton Hotel, which feels like a slightly moody European apartment building with creaky charm, tiny elevators, and a lobby that practically demands a drink. We landed, dropped our bags, and did what anyone with priorities would do. We went straight to Minetta.

Minetta Tavern is one of those restaurants where you walk in hoping for magic. And somehow… we got it. Four bar seats opened up mid-afternoon, and we slid in like we had planned it all along. The room has that old New York energy, dark wood, martinis everywhere, and low light even during the day.

There is something perfect about an afternoon drink at a historic restaurant bar. The city feels slower for a moment. Which, of course, didn’t last long.
