In my previous article I mentioned about “Black & White Seascapes” how much I enjoy these landscapes and what they mean to me. What better way is there to show you the beauty of the sea or lake, than with a photo of sunset or dusk when the light is fantastic and colors are stunning. I can watch these sunsets many times and never get tired of them. The nordic light can change quickly and dramatically within a short time and the season gives its color hue to the photo also. Summertime gives more warmth and in late autumn and winter the color hue is more cold and blue.
I usually photograph these sunsets with a ND-filter to be able to handle the bright light against the sun and smoothen the water to get the calmness I want to show. Sometimes when there are clouds I can catch the movement of the clouds also by using the filter. I think it gives the picture a different feel to it with some movement in the sky.
