for this ask, are we more interested a futon or a full pullout couch?

full pullout couches are more expensive and bulky but more comfortable. i guess, what's the amount of time people will be spending in residency? 1-2 days on a futon is probably fine, but if it's like a week plus then we'll need a full pullout couch.

probably a futon! The dream is 1-week maximum before finding lodging elsewhere, and yeah a simple "back of the couch leans back" is a much easier thing to have.
