序章

当一个年轻人开始创业时，觉得这个事业会有很好的未来，邀请两个年轻的好朋友跟他一起做，每个人拥有事业的三分之一，这样会变得很复杂。

当三个年轻人共同拥有一个事业，后来各自有了孩子时，有时候，他们会惊讶地发现，每个人都会为自己的孩子设想不同的未来。

有时候，父亲想让孩子继续从事这个事业。有时候，他们想让孩 子比父亲做得更好。有时候，他们会为最大的孩子和最小的孩子，儿子和女儿，设想不同的未来。如果另一个合伙人的孩子想继续从事这个事业，事情也会变得很复杂。

Prologue

When a young man starts a business, thinks it offers a promising future, invites two young friends to join him, and divides the business so that all three men are equal owners, things become complicated.

When three young men own a business together, and later have children, sometimes they are surprised to discover they have different futures for their children in mind.

Sometimes fathers want their children to stay in the business. Sometimes they want the children to do better than their fathers did. Sometimes they want different things for the eldest child and the youngest, for sons and for daughters. If another business partner’s child wants to stay in the business, things become complicated.

Sometimes wives and mothers have a say and sometimes they don’t. Unheard wives and mothers can make things complicated. Sometimes children have a say and sometimes they don’t. Unheard children can make things complicated.

So much unsaid.
