Ann B Miller · Getting Inky

Silicon Valley Open Studios is happening over the next two weekends (May 2-3 and 9-10) at Peninsula Studios on the San Mateo-Burlingame border. Eleven of us are showing our work and preparing a warm welcome for all visitors!

Poster designed by Nancy Garcia, one of our Peninsula Studios artists.

On view in my studio there will be some new paintings and calligraphy pieces as well as mugs, scarves and small gift items.

Studio wall to be reorganized!

There’s much to be done between now and Saturday, April 4. Let’s see each other soon!

Thank you all for reading and enjoying my posts. It’s great to be here with you.

ART 232: The Design of Light and Dark: Text Art and Notan begins on Thursday, July 16 from 6:00-7:50pm. This 6-week class will cover optics, figure/ground theories, Gestalt, and compositional methods in studio art, design, and letterform. It is not listed in the catalog as yet, but I’ll let you know when it’s open for registration. I’m looking forward intensely working with you in a new, highly interactive format.

The Rubin Vase and a simple art class exercise: two typical images found online in a search for the word Notan. Our work takes off from here.

Buy me a tea :)
