Croatia or Philadelphia or whatever.
Before I get into the real meat of this newsletter, I should mention that this past weekend, on August 15th, ItsTheReal celebrated its 19th (!!!) anniversary.

There’s a world we all live in, the one with rules and time, where convention puts shoes on your feet instead of your hands.

Last night, Styles’ had two celebrations to attend: the listening party for his final solo album, Ghost of the Past, Present and Future, out next month, and the celebration of the one-year anniversary of his Harlem dispensary, Strains for Life.

First things first, we’re a week away from our Mean Girls show!

If you look back our episodes, there aren’t too many we fully disagree on: we’ve got way more Big Lebowskis than Field of Dreams, more Juices than Apocalyptos.

Pitting two cultural juggernauts that made bubblegum pink pop, and seeing who's meaner.

This feels like our very first episode of this showcast in 2017 (when it was barely just a podcast and we were 1BD down).

This is what democracy looks like!

For a few years in the 2010s, I started doing a series of Tumblr posts on my birthday, giving a quick rundown of what I’d been up to that year: the ups, downs and ridiculous.

As I mentioned on the showcast this week, we’re letting you decide what we watch for our live episode (here in NYC on 8/13 at City Winery — get your tickets now)!

It is not the least bit surprising that — growing up when and where I grew up — I would be a huge fan of Jay-Z…or, sorry, JAŸ-Z.

Our long national nightmare is over!

First of all, thanks for opening this email today — two days ahead of the holiday, I’d forgive you for just chucking your phone at the wall and picking it up on Monday.

Last Thursday, Eric and I joined our friends Shiv and Tim to see Toy Story 5 — a real wild Boy’s Night Out!!!

Here’s the ticket link! PASSWORD: aight

Eric, Mayo and I went to see Disclosure Day together last night, a Father’s Day treat from Mayo’s wife and kids.
Yesterday, for the first time ever — not even after their championship wins in 1970 and 1973 — the Knicks threw a ticker tape parade through the vaunted Canyon of Heroes in downtown NYC.

What a week.

As you may have noticed, there was no interview with anyone last week (while we were gone in Europe) and there’s no interview today — although I did recently get hit up by Just Blaze and Armand Assante, who both wanted to do it.

Eric, Dan and I are back from Europe — here’s a few of our pictures, just so you don’t think we’re lying.
