Came across this tweet and thought we had to touch this matter a bit…Shall we?
While you are chilling, still being cute about your goals, people are seriously making mad career moves and “bagging” the bag literally.
What do I mean?
The very thing you’re very good at, and say nothing about, or keep second guessing before putting it out there, someone else with just half of your knowledge has used big grammar to package it, and now the whole world thinks they’re the smart one. SMH…
Even the gist you were casually gisting with your colleague in the lobby, where you mistakenly or jokingly spilled a genius idea you’ve been hoarding, now Baba has gone to share it and is now sharing the credit with you on top your hard earned wisdom. Ohhh!
Chimmmm…
You don’t know this feeling until you let it happen to you and you just sit there watching someone present your own idea and get the spotlight while you cry hot premium tears.
By all means, even if you’re an introvert, a peaceful, sweet phlegmatic phleg, my sister, don’t do that with your work oo.
I’m not saying you should join the bandwagon of cho cho cho people. Nooooo. But when it comes to the good work you are capable of, hawk it with vigor and energy from Epe to Alaba Market, don’t play!
There’s a saying that a moving woman will meet her luck. And moving isn’t only about upskilling, as good as that is…
Sometimes moving is speaking up, putting your work out there, sending that application. Moving can even be telling people what you do instead of waiting for them to somehow discover it!
I also remember Barack Obama once saying that as he met more successful and wealthy people, he realized they weren’t always the smartest or the most talented people in the room. Many of them simply moved, they took chances, put themselves out there, spoke up, and kept showing up.
There’s a lesson in that, so take it and keep it movinggg, fine woman. You will either jam your luck or your luck will jam you. Only don’t give up.
Either way, there will be a jamming of something good!😌…I come in peace. 😂
