Read this before you compare yourself again

Two years ago, I remember scrolling through LinkedIn and feeling like I was already late.

Everyone seemed to be hitting milestones faster than me.

One person just got promoted. Another had launched a business. Someone else was flying abroad for their master’s degree.

Meanwhile, I was still here, trying to figure out what path even made sense for me.

I almost rushed into things just so I could say I was also “doing something big.”

But along the way, I learnt something important: life is not a race, and timelines are not the same.

The person who started a business at 21 is not automatically more successful than the person who starts at 35.

The person who transitioned into tech in 6 months is not more “ahead” than the person who took 3 years.

Your journey is yours. It is shaped by your unique experiences, your lessons, your timing.

The moment you measure it against someone else’s progress, you rob yourself of the chance to value your own path. You will constantly feel behind, even when you are exactly where you need to be.

When I stopped comparing, I started growing. I began to appreciate my pace, my story, and the lessons that only my path could give me.

So here is my reminder to you today:

Your journey is unique. Honour it. Trust the timing. And remember, success is not about being the fastest. It is about being authentic to your path.
