On principle I tend not to apply for “open calls” when there are fees attached, which most open calls do.

In the spring of this year (April I think) there was an open call for artists living on the island of Ireland and artists based in the Netherlands.

I remained disciplined about sketching selfies in June until my birthday (June 23) when I headed up to Belfast as I was having major knee surgery the following day.

I was in Sligo in May and of course had to visit The Model: Home of the Niland Collection in order to see some of their Jack B Yeats collection currently on display in two exhibitions.
