A man has been arrested following an incident which began in Caldy.

At around 7.50pm on Wednesday 10 June, police received a report that a man was driving a car erratically on Croft Drive in an incident which also ended up involving two police dogs. Read more.

A new operator has been appointed to run Wirral Watersports Centre and West Kirby Marine Lake.

Coastal WK Ltd is to take over as the specialist external operator through a concession contract. Read more.

Wirral Open Studio Tour takes place this weekend, with more than 20 local artists in West Kirby, Hoylake, Meols and Caldy amongst those opening their doors.

It will be the 16th edition of the annual celebration of Wirral artistic talent and an opportunity to meet artists, find out more about their creative processes and even take home a piece of unique art. Read more.

There’s a new permanent location for West Kirby Farmers’ Market from this month.

It is switching to Westbourne Hall, starting on Saturday 27 June, from 9am - 12 midday.

• Whether they bark, purr, hop, chirp, all creatures great and small are welcome at a pet service at Ashton Park on Sunday 14 June. Hosted by West Kirby United Reformed Church and sponsored by Acorn Vets, it is taking place in the Upper Park on Sunday 14 June at 10:30am.

• The beauty of the Wirral peninsula is being celebrated at the LAKE gallery in West Kirby. It features new paintings from Andy McFadden, Ronnie Drillsma and Fiona Philipps. The exhibition runs until Saturday 27 June and the gallery is open Thurs – Sat, 10am – 4pm
