Hi friends —
Happy Friday! I can’t think of a better way to head into the weekend. These are basically your favorite apple pie in handheld form — and honestly, I think this might be the best way to eat it.
These Fried Apple Hand Pies start with a homemade pie crust that fries up perfectly golden with really flaky, buttery layers that just melt in your mouth. Then each one is stuffed to the brim with a gooey apple pie filling that is full of ALL of those warm fall spices and juicy, tart apples — it’s so cozy and truly feels like a hug. Fried until beautifully golden and finished with a brown butter maple vanilla bean glaze (my favorite) that just melts over the top and adds the perfect toasted touch…all of the textures and flavors couldn’t work more perfectly together, and they simply feel like a fall dream.
If you also grew up eating McDonald’s apple pies, then I have a feeling you’re going to absolutely love these. Cozy, fragrant, warming, and so much better homemade! They’re the perfect handheld fall treat, and one you will come back to again and again. Oh also, try serving them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a little sprinkle of flaky sea salt…and thank me later ;).
🍎 The FULL recipe is up on the blog:
With love,
Kiley 🤎
