Hi friends —
Happy Saturday! I hope you all had a beautiful week :). This week in the kitchen was so good — and transparently I have been fully in fall baking mode and have been absolutely loving it (don’t worry, we aren’t going full on fall…yet). September is ALMOST here, and the recipes coming your way are making me so, so excited. I’ve been in the kitchen so much this week working so hard to bring you so many goodies this fall season that are perfected, and I just can’t wait!! If you’re a fall, cozy lover like me then buckle up, because it’s going to be such a fun ride <3.
On a fun note and something outside of work — we went to see Benson Boone in Dallas last night and it was SO much fun. Dustin and I love going to concerts together, we always have the best time. Benson is such an incredible performer and one that I highly recommend to see if you ever get the chance to see him live!
And this week we are heading out of town to visit my family in New Jersey — and I could not be more excited. Gosh, I miss them so much and we haven’t been to New Jersey since CHRISTMAS…which feel illegal. After the blistering Texas heat that has been here for the past few weeks, I’m so ready for some fresh Jersey air and even more ready to soak up some quality time with my family. Those visits are always so sweet and I treasure every single second of them <3.
As always, I am just so grateful for this community and for every single one of you. If you missed anything this week, here’s a wrap-up of every new recipe from this week in the order they went live on the blog, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest! Plus a few favorite tools and ingredients, some highlights, and a word of encouragement to carry into the week ahead.
Listen, if you love chocolate…then this one is for you. It starts with a buttery and golden graham cracker crust on the bottom, followed by the softest chocolate cake that has a really delicate and moist crumb. Once it’s baked, marshmallow fluff gets piped all throughout the cake so you get those gooey, sweet pockets of marshmallow. Then finished with a velvety chocolate ganache that melts over the top and even better, served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream — this one is the definition of pure decadence!
I think it’s clear that I cannot get over the upside-down cheesecakes haha! There is just something about them — they’re SO fun to make, eat, and much easier than you think! This one might be the craziest yet. It starts with a crunchy and butter Oreo crust coating the entire thing. Then it’s filled with a rich and creamy cookies and cream cheesecake filling that’s layered with a thick, decadent hot fudge sauce right in the middle. Inverted to serve and smashed with a spoon (or of course, you can slice it)…it’s just so fun and always a crowd-pleaser!
These are simply a fall dream. If you grew up eating McDonald’s apple pies or amish fry pies — then you’re absolutely going to love these. They start with a homemade pie crust that fries up perfectly golden with those buttery, flaky layers. Then each one is stuffed with a warming and gooey apple pie filling that is full of fall spices and juicy, tart apples…it’s a DREAM. Fried until golden and finish with a brown butter maple vanilla bean glaze that adds that toasted, sweet finish — they are truly like your favorite apple pie but in handheld form and each bite just gets better and better.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
This verse is one that I sit on a lot, and it has been on my heart this week. In the middle of a really full, busy, exciting season…I think it’s important to remember and be reminded that there is SO much to be thankful for. The ability and privilege to create, the people that surround us and that we love, the little moments of joy that pop up in unexpected places. His goodness is woven everywhere, through all of it, and I never want to miss it or take it for granted.
As your head into a new week, I hope you take a moment to just look around at the goodness in your own life — big and small. He is good all the time, and all the time He is good! And His love truly does endure through every single season!
