🌐 Bridging Brands and Fans in Web3... every week
Let’s highlight the innovative developments in Web3 this week that are setting new benchmarks for brand engagement and user experience.
🟪 Mastercard and Polygon's Web3 Musician Accelerator
Mastercard collaborates with Polygon to introduce a unique program for emerging musicians, using the latest Web3 technologies.
For Artists: The program is a stepping stone for musicians, DJs, and producers to navigate the digital world using Web3, a new internet phase focused on user ownership and decentralized platforms.
Tools and Skills: Participants will learn how to create and own digital assets like music NFTs (unique digital tokens representing true ownership of their work) and engage with fans in innovative ways.
Mastercard sees this as an opportunity to pioneer in the digital arts space, investing in technologies that could shape the future of music and fan engagement.
Polygon's blockchain was likely selected for its efficiency and scalability, crucial for handling complex and numerous digital interactions in the music industry.
This new approach could create a different kind of market for music, moving away from big streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music.
These services are often talked about for how they pay artists, which many think is far from enough.
Leveraging web3 technology allows for musicians to cut out the middle man (Spotify & Apple Music in this case) and create more direct-to-fan relationships. Doing this gives those in the music industry new opportunities to create experiences directly with their fans and monetize in ways previously prohibited by the platform owning the relationship.
PSG deepens its activity in the blockchain space as it becomes a validator for Chiliz Chain, a move that's pioneering for sports clubs.
Imagine a referee in a blockchain game, ensuring everything runs smoothly and fairly.
That's what a validator does. It works with other validators in the blockchain network to come to consensus around the transactions that have taken place.
Sustainable Fan Economy: PSG will use earnings from being a validator to support its fan token economy by reinvesting earnings derived from this position to repurchase PSG tokens and into the wider fan ecosystem
Enhanced Fan Interaction: Through this reinvestment, there will be better experiences created for fans and more incentive for fans to hold PSG tokens. Doing this means they can get more than just watching games; they can be part of the club's decisions and have unique experiences as they have something to come back to.
PSG's approach could inspire other sports teams to adopt similar strategies. Taking part in areas further down the blockchain stack, such as being a validator, and using this to make their investment in their PSG token and Web3 ecosystem more sustainable, could become a more adopted approach to help brands see greater ROI.
Other Page and Magic Eden are joining forces to bring a new feature to the NFT world: dynamic Web3 profiles.
Web3 Profiles: Think of these as digital passports, connecting user wallets, showcasing a user's activities and interests across the digital world e.g. including communities they’ve previously been part of.
Impact on Brands: These profiles make it easier for brands to understand and connect with their audience, offering a direct glimpse into their interests and behaviors.
For brands, this means being able to tailor marketing efforts more effectively.
By understanding what the audience cares about, brands can create more personalized and engaging experiences.
In Web3, you won’t have to go through thousands of analytics tools to learn about your audience.
You can just check out their universal profile to create targeted & personalized experiences and campaigns to every user
Mastercard and Polygon are reshaping music's future, PSG is redefining fan engagement in sports, and Other Page's collaboration with Magic Eden is transforming how brands interact with audiences.
Each step forward in Web3 is a leap towards a more engaged, personalized digital era.
