Things seem to be changing so rapidly in tech (and the world) that it sometimes feels like I am always just barely keeping up.

I find that regularly reading a small selection of newsletters - which I am sharing below - helps me stay (or at least feel) up-to-date. Consuming them all takes about an hour per week, but I find it time well spent.

What do you follow to stay in the loop? Please share below or message me!

MIT Technology Review

  • Format: one issue every two months

  • Cost: $120 per year

  • Audience: everyone

  • Why I read it: well-written articles that go deep without requiring in-depth technical knowledge; gives an overview of technological developments in all fields (not just software)

Akash Bajwa’s Software Synthesis

  • Format: weekly newsletter

  • Cost: free

  • Audience: those in AI/ML tech

  • Why I read it: insight into what’s happening in the major AI labs & ML deep tech (especially London/Europe), written from the perspective of a VC investor

Lenny’s Newsletter

  • Format: weekly newsletter + 1-2 podcasts per week

  • Cost: $200 per year (includes many free subscriptions)

  • Audience: anyone in tech, but especially product managers

  • Why I read it: the weekly newsletters always provide excellent introductions into complex topics (e.g. types of AI agents & how to prioritise them for your company); the 1-2 podcasts per week are too much for me, I just skim the take-aways at the end of the email

Else van de Berg’s Productpourri

  • Format: newsletter, usually 2-3 per month

  • Cost: free

  • Audience: product managers

  • Why I read it: not only an expert in finding product-market fit and discovery, but has also really embraced AI and shares a ton of examples of how she uses it for product discovery; fellow Dutch freelancer ;)

Stephanie Leue’s InsideProductOrg

  • Format: weekly newsletter

  • Cost: free

  • Audience: product managers

  • Why I read it: shares helpful frameworks that explain why product leadership is hard & how to deal with it

Jonathan Yagel’s 1

  • Format: 1-minute weekly newsletter

  • Cost: free

  • Audience: everyone

  • Why I read it: always an interesting new impetus, and it takes less than 1 minute to read

I prefer reading over podcasts. I seem to retain information better that way - probably because I have to focus on just one thing, rather than listening to a podcast while doing something else. The exception for me is Acquired, who do excellent 3+ hour deep dives on (mostly) tech companies.

I hope you find these resources as helpful as I do. Let me know what else I should be reading or listening to!
