Træskohage Fyr & Hotel Vejlefjord 🌿
This spot is a gem, only a 25-minute drive from Vejle. We’ve been here a few times, and it always feels so calm.
Start by parking at Hotel Vejlefjord. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, you’re welcome to visit the terrace with the most gorgeous garden and fjord view. At this time of year, the rhododendrons are in full bloom, and they are absolutely stunning—huge, colorful, and everywhere. You can sit on the terrace with a coffee or a glass of wine and just take it all in. Honestly, don’t walk—run (or drive) to that garden right now! 🌸
Once you’ve soaked in the view and maybe had a little refreshment, take the path to the left of the hotel toward the sea. You’ll soon reach a small wooden bridge over the water—an excellent place for a quick dip if you feel brave! Then, follow the gravel path along the fjord. It’s peaceful and flat, with birdsong and breeze, and eventually you’ll arrive at the charming little Træskohage Lighthouse.
It’s only 13 meters tall, but the views from the top are lovely and the whole area feels like something out of a postcard. There are picnic tables nearby, so you could bring lunch or snacks. On your way back, take the route through the forest—it’s a shady and quiet trail that leads back to the parking lot.
I highly recommend coming to Hotel Vejle Fjord even though you are not planning to visit the lighthouse. We’ve tried the hotel’s thermal spa, hot pools, and saunas, and it felt like pressing a reset button on our brains. ✨ The whole place has this quiet, healing vibe (not surprising since it used to be a sanatorium). This is not an ad; it is simply a personal suggestion.
🍽️ Recipe of the week
Green Asparagus, Ricotta & Parmesan Tart 🌱🧀
This week’s recipe is giving such spring vibes. It’s a flaky, cheesy, ricotta-based tart topped with green asparagus and a sprinkle of parmesan. Super simple, and elegant. Enjoy!
Hope your weekend feels like a deep breath of fresh air. 💛
