At yesterday’s online meeting of Peebles Common Good Sub-Committee, councillors quizzed Kara Neel on her proposal to locate a mobile barrel-style sauna within Hay Lodge Park. In this article, we’ve summarised the discussion and also some brief updates given on Kingsmeadows Toilets, Hay Lodge Depot and the Ice House in Hay Lodge Park.
Describing the outline document as an early stage idea and not a finished plan, Ms Neel said she was now considering if there was a site on the south side of Fotheringham Bridge that might be more acceptable than the corner nearest the Dookits, which was initially proposed.
On the viability of the business, she said she expected to operate 10-20 hours/week to start with and then adjust. She would be planning to operate the facility herself and hadn’t yet explored liability and insurance matters.
