🎧 This Week’s Happenings
We hope this little post brightens The Nerve’s brief summer blackout. While the rest of America is melting, Queen Troublemaker is back stateside, rehydrated, a tad jet-lagged, and ready to resume her cultural criminal prosecutorial duties.
As Maureen was leaving London, the royal family reportedly gathered for a rare family dinner ahead of Harry’s possible return. Lady C and Maureen had a far more useful conversation about what The Firm should actually do with the ingrates of Sussex. We can’t wait to welcome Lady C back to discuss through tears of hysterical laughter.
Even though we’ve been dark this week, celebrity misbehavior remains a growth industry. Maureen, Marlaina and Team Nerve have been texting, emailing, and plotting all week, happily sifting through the wreckage and taking copious notes.
Next week, Taylor’s Big Fat Disney Wedding is getting The Nerve treatment. Taylor has spent the better part of two decades convincing America she invented summer, the Fourth of July, friendship bracelets, fireworks, and frenemies. The Nerve promises: She hasn’t seen anything yet.
By the time these two were done in the grubby confines of Midtown West, Teddy and Trouble ran down eight new leads on Stedman. Intel has been streaming into Nerve HQ — diamond-encrusted souvenir champagne flutes (reportedly, allegedly) — how very “let them eat cake.”
The Nerve Awards 2026 is taking much inspiration here. Just look at this load-in — during a heatwave on the 250th celebration of American independence, no less. Travis: Blink twice if you need help. Teddy is overworked, but he’s got some contacts with former Special Ops.
We’ve got images of ice cream trucks at the ready courtesy of TMZ (who on this guest list eats dairy, save reportedly Lena?), every 8-year-old’s Disney dream, and massive red curtains going up as reported on the Today show — presumably to make this gaudy spectacle feel like even more of a performance. Rumor has it Taylor’s filming this for later release . . . because why get married if you can’t monetize it?
Speaking of, Lena Dunham (see below, posted by People) rolled up in a ridiculously large SUV while her ex Jack Antonoff — who she thoroughly trashed in her new memoir and who we suspect she’s still in love with — showed up looking old-timey in a zoot suit. Did Jack bring his wife, the much younger and more beautiful Margaret Qualley? Did Lena spontaneously explode like Demi Moore at the end of “The Substance”? We cannot wait to discuss with you.
And where were Blake and Ryan? The real gossip is coming in hot!
But first...Are you ready? Buckle up Troublemakers.
Tomorrow we’re dropping a Mini Nerve with enough explosive material to light up the entire Fourth of July weekend.
Security around this thing has rivaled the CIA. Half the script has been REDACTED. Even Teddy was kept on a strict need-to-know basis. Every member of Team Nerve — and yes, every paw at TNT Headquarters — signed an ironclad NDA. Just like Taylor and Travis’s family members had to in order to attend the Wedding of the Century (allegedly, reportedly)..
One quick correction before we go: last week’s Silence of the Lambs artwork by the brilliant Paul from New Zealand was inspired by Troublemaker K, not commissioned by Team Nerve (though we desperately wish we’d thought of it first). Thank you to Paul for the incredible artwork, and to Troublemaker K for the inspiration.
We missed you.
Happy Taylor Swift Wedding Weekend. May the fireworks be both literal and metaphorical.
See you tomorrow!
