40 vibrant outdoor and indoor artworks along South Halsted Street in Greektown — celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence through the lens of 27 professional and emerging artists and 13 Chicagoland Greek schools. Works draw inspiration from the Statue of Liberty and ancient Greek thinkers, exploring what life, liberty, and the pursuit of beauty actually mean. An exhibition exploring the dual reality of death — the physical disappearance of those we love and the enduring emotional, spiritual, and cultural traces they leave behind. Sculpture, painting, performance, and participatory installations bring together fragile and enduring materials to reflect on memory, loss, and the tension between impermanence and our desire to hold on. Rather than viewing death as an ending, the show considers it as a connective force between past, present, and future.
Curated by Indira Freitas Johnson — sculptor, cultural worker, peace activist, and SAIC MFA graduate whose work is held in the collections of the Library of Congress, the MCA Chicago, and RISD Museum, and who was named Chicagoan of the Year in 2013.

Celebrating 25 years — The Living Canvas exhibition opens July 30 with over 100 photographs documenting decades of performances celebrating the beauty and expressive power of the human form. On August 7, a live 25th anniversary performance at 7pm and 9pm — performance art and the body, two decades in the making. Tickets required for the performance, free to view the exhibition.

The Colvin Coven celebrates Lammas — the Pagan harvest holiday — with a witch-style tea party in a beautifully restored 1920s lakefront mansion. A tea ceremony and intro to herbalism and tea charms hosted by singer and witch Isabella Snow (@the_snow_verse), an intro lesson in tea-leaf divination, house-baked loaves of bread, seasonal jams, honey, cheese spreads, and late-summer fruit.
