Interrupting our regularly scheduled content to let the proverbial cat out of the bag: SULA LABS is a finalist in Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition Prize!
After thousands of applicants, the pool was narrowed to 250 semifinalists in June, and now we are one of 40 top finalists (and among the final 10 companies in the technology category!). As we are currently being evaluated for investment by the Black Ambition team to secure the prize in November, we are also eligible for winning the popular vote, to secure extra investment.
Today is the last day to vote - if you believe in our mission & vision of closing inclusivity gaps in beauty through formulation & testing, this is the chance to vote for the future of beauty. When I started SULA LABS in 2021 after leaving my job in clinical research & formulation (TEDx storytime here!), my goal was to shift beauty R&D in favor of customers who look like me, which have been left behind for far too long (and tbh - it turns out that most people in the world have melanin-rich skin or texture rich hair). Over the past few years, we’ve shown that it’s truly possible - through every formulation, every clinical test, every textured hair tress panel, every presentation, every community event - everything. On the hardest days in this entrepreneurial journey, your support means so much to keep going - honestly, more than you know.
