Sometimes, I photograph things merely for the sake of awe. Or is it beauty? I don’t quite know what to call it. It doesn’t matter if they’re droplets of white paint in a corner of the patio or the circular patterns forming from a boiling pot of water. It’s the noticing itself that gives me pleasure.
In this set, I choose one element of the picture to inform the next. That, too, is a joy, the process of searching for what follows, finding connections as I go. Sometimes, I don’t know why they work. Maybe it’s instinctual, maybe it’s a muscle or a trained eye from years of intentional seeing.
Nothing of significance here but an attempt to make sense of these pictures taken at different places and times. Moments that made me pause and remember that something beautiful and uplifting is always there.
