Spark e-Fuels GmbH · Spark e-fuels’s Substack

  • RWGS Pilot Launch: We’ve officially begun commissioning our brand‑new RWGS pilot plant — right on schedule. All preliminary tests, including the Factory Acceptance Test, were completed successfully, and the first plant functionalities have already been put through their paces. A major milestone in our tech development!

  • 10+ LOIs secured for demo project: Our strong network and long‑standing partnerships are paying off: over the past months, we secured more than 10 offtake and supply LOIs for our upcoming e‑fuel demo plant. This overwhelming interest underscores the growing demand for our e‑fuel solution and the confidence partners have in our product.

  • Team Growth: We’re excited to welcome Linh Nguyen to the team as our new Project Engineer. With deep expertise in e‑fuel project development, she will strengthen Spark’s project pipeline and play a key role in securing non‑dilutive funding.

  • IP Development: With our expanding research capabilities, we’re continuously strengthening our intellectual property portfolio. Over the past weeks, the team has been hard at work developing a new patent that will safeguard our core RWGS process innovations and reinforce Spark’s technological edge.

  • Process Simulation: Building robust process simulation capabilities is a key priority for sharpening our R&D focus and maximizing the impact of our pilot operations. To accelerate this, we created a high‑fidelity digital twin of our pilot plant—already proving its value by helping our tech team identify new hypotheses and optimization paths for upcoming pilot campaigns.

  • Demo Plant Engineering: Together with a specialized engineering partner, we’ve completed a detailed concept study that provides deeper insight into our Bill of Materials and overall project costs. Combined with updated quotations for cost‑critical components from expert EPC partners, these data points will significantly strengthen our upcoming grant proposals and ensure a solid foundation for the demo plant design.

  • LOIs for demo project: See above

  • Conferences & industry networking: We’ve kept the momentum going on the industry outreach front. Over the past weeks, our team has been actively engaging at key events to boost awareness of Spark’s mission to deliver scalable, affordable e‑fuel systems. Highlights included the VDMA P2X Conference and the BDL SAF Forum, both of which offered valuable insights and opened the door to new industry and policy connections.
