Does the news make you anxious?

A lot of things can trigger our anxiety today. Just watching the news can make us believe that there is no hope for our world anymore.

Climate change. Crime. Financial crisis. Pandemics. Secularization.

These are just some of the things that can keep us awake at night.

But while we shouldn’t forget to be vigilant, we should also avoid letting worry rob our hearts of peace.

Our problems may be so big, far too big for us to handle. But God is far bigger. And if it is His hands that uphold us, of whom should we be afraid?

“Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.” - Matthew 6:34 (NABRE

“Worrying is carrying tomorrow’s load with today’s strength- carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn’t empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”― Corrie Ten Boom

“The more you pray, the less you’ll panic. The more you worship, the less you worry.”
―Rick Warren, The Purpose of Christmas

If you are starting to worry, surrender it all to God as you pray. Ask Him for the gift of peace and faith. You need not be troubled. God is still in control. Let God take care of you and protect you from all evil and harm.
