Ira Tucker Leads 79th Annual Puxico VFW Homecoming Parade as Grand Marshal

Ira Tucker received a special honor during the 79th Annual Puxico VFW Homecoming when he was selected to serve as Grand Marshal of the Homecoming Parade.

As Grand Marshal, Tucker was the honored guest who led the procession at the very front of the parade.  He was driven along the parade route by VFW member and veteran Bill Hemby as spectators gathered throughout Puxico to the annual Homecoming tradition.

This year's parade celebrated the 250th anniversary of America, with a patriotic red, white, and blue theme displayed throughout the procession.  It was extremely hot, but many showed up and cheered the parade participants along the route.

The selection of Tucker as Grand Marshal added another special memory to the 79th Annual Puxico VFW Homecoming and gave the community an opportunity to recognize "Mr. Puxico" during one of the town's most treasured traditions.
