Adult content now gets zero reach on X

X put its entire recommendation algorithm on GitHub, and this code settles a debate that adult creators have been having for years: content labeled adult or explicit is excluded from the “for you feed” entirely (not downranked) actually removed from the pool..

and here is the entire code that makes this happen…

now let me tell you why that matters for you specifically…

if you are creating posts that are labeled adult content, strangers cannot and will not discover you.. your reach is capped at the people who ALREADY follow you.

and it compounds: accounts that get repeatedly flagged for sensitive media start getting auto-labeled on everything they post, which kills “for you” reach altogether.

as of June 2026 this is the current state… X updates the public code roughly monthly, so the numbers move, but this exclusion is the architecture…

sooo? what’s the takeaway? and what should you do this week?

1. Audit the account you count on for discovery - know that any adult labels, adult links or gray-zone content (lingerie, towels, implied-nude) is draining it

2. Move every link out of your post bodies - links cost roughly 30% to 50% of reach, keep the link in your first reply or your bio only

3. If one account is doing both jobs, start separating them - this means having a clean account for discovery, your adult account for conversion, a bio mention, and one pinned post as the bridge
