It’s Christmas Eve at the Whitehouse and all is dark. Melania is staying with friends and Donald is alone, typing feverishly into Truth Social under the light of a single small lamp.

He is suddenly startled by the loud rattling of heavy chains behind him. Donald spins around as a ghostly figure appears before him, screaming in obvious agony.

Waaah! Oh potus… POTUS! I am the ghost of Presidents Past.

“Long ago I was James Buchanan, known as the worst among all Presidents - until you arrived on the scene. I wear the Chains of Misery that I created for myself by hammering empty soup cans down flat and linking them all together with the bones of past House Speakers.

“You refuse to see it but your own chain is now far longer and less valuable than this one that I wear. Yours is forged of cheap led and rather than making you rich, it will cost you millions to have it removed. Even now it’s weight is dragging Mara Lago down into the sea.”

“Tonight you will be visited by three ex-presidents. Well, two now since I was the first. The second is you, so not much to surprise you with there.

The third will be the Ghost of Presidents Future. They are all Democrats, Donald! Every one! Admitting that you are a Republican will soon be grounds to be taken from this place to a hill where you will hang by the neck until you cheer up. Woooohooooo!”

An alarm clock goes off and Donald sits bolt upright, his face imprinted with the keys of his computer keyboard. He rushes to a window and shouts down to a young boy passing by, “You there! Young boy! What day is it?”

“Today? Why it’s Christmas Day Mr. President!

“I’m not too late then! More Tariffs for every American!

What? Did you think this would end differently? <sigh>
