For Canada, divorce is the only possible choice. The alternative is trade in your principles and wealth, and become third-class citizens of an emerging U.S. autocracy that has betrayed its allies and friends, a country that the world will probably never blindly trust again.

Why would we voluntarily chain ourselves to a dead elephant that still thinks it is "exceptional"?

Their current leader and his government is heartless, thoughtless, gutless, faithless, clueless, pointless and endless.

He particularly hates liberal democracies like Canada, the EU and pretty much any place on Earth where the rule of law still functions and a social safety net is intact.

As they say after breakups, there's plenty of fish in the sea.
