Rosewood Miramar Beach Recap

I love a staycation. Especially when it involves a spot like the Rosewood Mirmar Beach. It’s the most relaxing of getaways when you take away a stressful travel day or any anxiety over leaving the kids if it’s adults only. Todd and I had a really good excuse to plan this one, our 13th wedding anniversary which always lands on some good weather at home.

I grew up watching an old movie called High Society—Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra—where the set is a lavish beachside mansion and I literally feel like I’m stepping into that era, that movie every time I come to this property, my favorite aspect about it. Checking in you walk through what feels like someone’s home versus a hotel… a glossy black door leads to a black and white checkered floored foyer and a grand staircase just like the one from my favorite movie.

The Room

This is our third time staying on the property and each time we’ve stayed in a different area of the resort. Once right on the beach, which is epic of course and worth it if you’re able to snag one, another time in one of the free standing cottages close to the adult pool (loved our private patio space in this room) and this time in one of the two story buildings on the ground floor. The style is just as you would imagine, carrara marble bathrooms, stunning closet space and estate like decor that felt classic.

The Spa

Just like the rest of the property, the spa feels like an intimate space in someone’s home. The relaxation rooms are peaceful with natural light filtering in through the french windows, comfortable couches and chairs and tea service which you can request after your service. I had the 111Skin Glass Facial that truly left my skin glowing! Already being a lover of the brand—these are my all-time favorite eye patches that really do their job and de-puff—I loved getting to try the Rose Gold Brightening mask and the repair serum that hydrates and calms. Also the treatment was incredibly relaxing with a added foot massage and zero gravity bed. Don’t miss the sun deck that has a cold plunge and lounge chairs and a perfect view of the mountains… I listened to a podcast and almost fell asleep it was so peaceful.

Beach + Pool

Hands down the highlight of the property. One of the best beaches (also prettiest) in town in my opinion and I love the European vibe of a beach club that we don’t normally get in California. We let the kids come meet us for a beach day and swam out to the floating dock that they put out every summer, ordered drinks to our chairs and watched the girls boogie board for 2 hours straight.

There are two pools on property, one that is adults only, the other being family friendly with the cutest ice cream shop inside. Our time at the adult pool was relaxing no surprise and we ordered tinga tacos (highly recommend!) and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc… anniversary dreams come true!

I wore this bathing suit, which I discovered worked so well under this Doen dress, my new favorite combo… and my favorite Christopher Esber flip flops were in heavy rotation between the pool and beach.

Dinner at Caruso’s

One of the highlights of our stay was having dinner at Caruso’s, the resorts restaurant that overs right above the sand and feels like you’re somewhere in Italy, or on a boat—the view is spectacular especially at sunset when the sky turns pink over a sparkling ocean. It’s an upscale setting (jacket required for men), also rare in Santa Barbara, and a prix fixe menu with a coastal California meets Italy vibe. I loved everything we had from the crudo and Sea Bass entree to the brown butter cake with marinated peaches that we couldn’t stop eating. An ideal place for a special occasion.

Shopping

The luxury shopping right at the resort is such a fun aspect and so seamlessly woven into the design of the property. With Chanel, Bottega Veneta, Goop, The Webster (my personal favorite), Jacquemus, David Webb and more, you can easily spend a morning browsing to your hearts desire and maybe come home with a purchase or two—gulp, I did! Made my first Chanel purchase ever if you can believe it and the experience was one I’ll never forget.

A few favorites I packed…

I wore this dress for our anniversary dinner, the color is so stunning in person, styled with these gold flats and a vintage bag that reminds me of a gold fishing net (similar)—mermaid on land vibes! Also loved pulling out these Dorsey earrings (the large and medium doubled up) that felt appropriately blingy for the setting.

These shorts were fun to wear to the beach, I styled them with this graphic tee and this red paracord necklace layered with a tennis necklace.

This dress was perfect for a late breakfast, styled it with this gold charm necklace (pining for this one!) and these Jamie Haller sandals.

Of course my favorite linen combo—the Alex Mill Jo shirt (brought the blue) and these shorts.

Such a memorable anniversary and so glad we carved out time to make this mini escape happen! We might have to make this a tradition I think, Chanel purchase included?
