Here are 5 income streams every creator needs to build. In no exact order.
Bucket 1 — Audience.
Brands pay to borrow the attention and trust you’ve built, for a limited time through select channels. Brand deals. Sponsorships, partnerships, affiliate commissions.
Bucket 2 — Knowledge.
This is money from packaging what you know into a product or offer. Courses, ebooks, workshops, coaching, templates, sessions.
Bucket 3 — Skills.
Money from what you can do: Editing, Consulting, Strategy, Speaking. Photography, MC’ing. Use content to create opportunities by amplifying the skills you already have in the real world.
Bucket 4 — Content.
This is money generated by the content itself: YouTube AdSense, TikTok Creator Rewards, Facebook Monetization, Podcasts, Licensing. If you make YouTube movies or skits, for example, and a TV station wants to air them, you can license the content for a fee.
Bucket 5 — Assets.
Build things you create once, own forever, and continue earning from. So books, podcasts, businesses, newsletters, presets. Things that can be patented, things that can potentially be acquired.
Remember, think like a businessperson.
Every creator starts with one bucket.
The goal is not to build five overnight. The goal is to slowly fill each bucket and turn as many of them as possible into assets that keep creating value long after you’ve created the content.
That way, even if one dries up, your business doesn’t. That’s how you build a creator business instead of just earning creator income.
This is Creator 101, your daily dose of creative momentum.
