A QUICK REQUEST:
Unlike Elon Musk and the person currently occupying the People’s House, I am neither a trillionaire nor a billionaire. I am not even a millionaire. I am closer to a thousandaire. Paid subscriptions make a huge difference for me. Mr. Musk certainly would never pay for anything he could get for free. Nor would Trump.
If you are financially able to do so, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. It costs less than 14 cents a day.
If it would not be a burden on your budget, think about not being like Elon and Donald:

Most networks wisely decided not to show Trump’s call to end democracy last night. Others pointed out some (there are so many spewed out so rapidly that keeping up with all of them is almost impossible) of his lies in real time. I tuned in for about two minutes and heard him saying Venezuela had the means of changing votes on voting machines. I screamed, “Only in Venezuela, not in the United States, you lying [expletive deleted—as a veteran of the Watergate era, I enjoy sticking that in quotations from time to time]!” I huffed a little more and then turned him off. (There is absolutely no way any foreign or domestic forces can remotely flip election machine votes in the United States. Those machines are not connected to the internet! Full Stop.)

As Mr. Trump spoke, most of his top sycophants … uh, top government officials — seated in front of him had to nod agreement as they knew that he was lying through his orange-blonde hairpiece. At the end, they stood and applauded his plan to end free elections in America. The scene was like the Politburos in Beijing and Pyongyang, which Trump has indicated he wants for himself.
