An Ominous 2024 Warning from Australia on What Trump Will Try on Thursday Evening

With Donald Trump set yet again to spew ridiculous lies about the 2020 election having been stolen from him to the American people on Thursday evening, I happened upon a Facebook memory — which I almost never look at — from 2024 that seemed serendipitous.

A friend in Australia had alerted me to a two-part series on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation program, “Four Corners” from July 2024 titled, “Investigating Trump, Project 2025 and the future of the United States.” It examined the extraordinary dangers a second Trump presidency would pose. It went into Project 2025 in more detail than most Americans ever knew when they went to the polls that November.

Presumably hardly any American voters saw these revealing programs before they voted in 2024. It is, of course, too late now to prevent Trump’s return to the presidency and carrying out what it warned of.

A QUICK REQUEST:
Unlike Elon Musk and the person currently occupying the People’s House, I am neither a trillionaire nor a billionaire. I am not even a millionaire. I am closer to a thousandaire. Paid subscriptions make a huge difference for me. Mr. Musk certainly would never pay for anything he could get for free. Nor would Trump.
If you are financially able to do so, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. It costs less than 14 cents a day.
If it would not be a burden on your budget, think about not being like Elon and Donald:

It is not, though, too late to stop him from succeeding in pushing “the United States over the precipice.” You can watch the 2024 Australian program here:

One of the items presented in the program is the “truth” (his word for lie) Trump posted in 2022 that is reproduced at the beginning of this essay. He is setting the stage for trying to terminate “all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

What that means is that Trump intends to declare a fake emergency and either cancel the mid-term elections entirely or put troops and ICE goons in the streets to block voters.

Here are a few of the points raised in the 2024 program:

“I do not believe that he is capable of putting America’s interests and America’s national security ahead of his own personal interests,” Pete Strzok, Deputy Assistant Director of the FBI’s counterintelligence unit during the first Trump Administration, said.

Anthony Scaramucci said he “believes Project 2025, with its plan to stack public service with an army of Trump loyalists, will propel America into a dystopian future. …. They’re gonna stress the system in a way that it hasn’t been stressed since the American Civil War and it’s gonna be hard on the country.” Scaramucci also warned in 2024 of Trump’s plans for ICE, “Are you gonna run around the country in some armored car like we’re in the Handmaid’s Tale?”

The program presents some of Trump’s Nazi-sounding comments:

“Democrats said, please don’t call them animals; they’re humans. I said, ‘No, they’re not humans, they’re animals.”

— Donald Trump, April 2, 2024

“They’re poisoning the blood of our country.”

— Donald Trump, December 16, 2023

“He says that he plans to send the military out into the country to round up people, I guess who look like immigrants and put them in camps,” Rep. Zoe Lofgren accurately predicted.

She also said that if Trump was elected again, “I’m not sure the country will survive it, honestly, if he really does intend to do the things he says, we would not have the kind of democratic republic that we’ve enjoyed for over 200 years.”

Near the end of the first part, the host meaningfully warned,

“He’s promised bloodshed and bedlam … I get the impression that the shock and violence of Trump’s rhetoric has worn off for many Americans, but to those who know the man, there’s a very real fear that a re-elected Donald Trump could just deliver on what he says.”

Erica Newland of Protect Democracy pointed out months before Trump won the 2024 election,

“What Donald Trump wants is people who will be loyal, not to the office of the president, but to the person of the president and whatever his dreams or whims are.”

“Donald Trump is an authoritarian threat to this country. There’s a playbook that authoritarians use: They aggrandize executive authority, they politicize independent institutions, they quash dissent, they spread misinformation, they target vulnerable communities, they corrupt elections, and they stoke violence. Donald Trump has engaged in all seven of these.

Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta made a couple of observations on the program that proved all-too accurate:

“He’s somebody who has no respect for intelligence—or for those who collect intelligence, because he’s somebody who doesn’t like to be told the truth.”

and

“Donald Trump does not believe in the Constitution. He does not believe in the rule of law. He does not believe in free and fair elections. He’s a liar and he does not believe in America as a world leader.”

I wish all—or at least enough—Americans had seen this warning before the 2024 Election.

Don’t fall for his lies again.

He LOST the 2020 Election. By seven million votes. He LOST the electoral vote by 74 electoral votes. Full Stop.

Trump cannot stand that he lost to Joe Biden, though he himself admitted he did between the election and his attempt to overturn it by violence on January 6, 2021. Now he wants, for two reasons, people to believe that it was stolen:

1. So he can feel better about himself.

2. So he can sow the seeds of preventing a free and fair election in 2026.

Make no mistake. We are very much not out of the woods yet. Donald Trump is prepared to do anything to prevent a free and fair election and we, the American people need to be ready to stop him and save the United States from succumbing to fascism.
