ECHOES OF EXCEPTIONALISM: Refusing to Live by Lies
In Moscow, Russia, on August 19, 1991, history arrived on a gray morning in a steady late-summer rain in the form of a column of tanks moving through ordinary Moscow traffic. Morning radio news announced that Mikhail Gorbachev had been removed as the leader of the Soviet Union for health reasons. A self-appointed State Committee for the State of Emergency claimed authority. Under Gorbachev’s reforms—glasnost, meaning “openness”—the truth began to surface for the first time in decades. Censorship loosened. Previously banned books reappeared. Small reform movements independent of the Communist Party began to speak openly. The air, previously heavy with suspicion and fear, became lighter. And then the tanks came. When people demand liberty, communism answers with tanks.

Trump can continue White House ballroom construction for now, says Roberts; Trump says grateful
“We are grateful,” Trump writes on Truth Social. The controversial construction has previously been stopped by an appeals court, which said Congress must first approve the ballroom. In his post, Trump now refers to it as a “military/ballroom complex” that is “so critical to national security.” It is a shift, with him increasingly talking about it as a military facility, with large underground spaces and drones on the roof, rather than a mere ballroom.

In one of the most curious political developments of the last several years, President Richard Nixon is making one more comeback – and young conservatives, many of whom weren’t even born when he died, are leading the charge. Turkey Issues Arrest Warrant for Netanyahu as Israel’s Relations With Ankara Hit New Lows
Turkey issues an international arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu. Israel’s prime minister responds by calling Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan an “anti-Semitic dictator.” Relations between the two countries have reached new lows. The arrest warrant announcement on Friday came from Turkey’s Justice Minister Akin Gurlek on X. Turkey is investigating Israel’s efforts to stop ships carrying civilians that tried to reach the population of war-torn Gaza during the war between Hamas and Israel, with Hamas designated a terrorist group.

Iranian President says it is time to end the war with the US
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says it is time to end the war with the United States because Iran has the upper hand. “It is better that we end the war now when we are in a position of strength and dignity and when the whole world recognizes our victory,” Pezeshkian said during a meeting on Friday. The president also said that the United States is “hated around the world.

Canada: Man buys drugs from a pharmacy to be euthanised by MAiD in a funeral home
a 26-year-old Ontario man was killed by Medical Assistance in Dying (“MAiD”) after travelling to Vancouver to be euthanised Dr. Ellen Wiebe at a funeral home. Wiebe, who is renowned for administering MAiD, decided that he was eligible for murder because he was depressed. The victim was given a prescription for a list of non-FDA-approved drugs, which he purchased from a pharmacy, and then paid a fee to use the funeral home facility where he was killed. It’s worth noting that among the drugs supplied was midazolam. The same drug used in the UK for “covid” patients during the “pandemic.”

Grand Jury Declines to Indict Man Caught on Camera Destroying Flock Pole
If this isn’t an indictment on America’s hatred of Flock cameras, we don’t know what is. On Wednesday, a grand jury in Ohio refused to bring felony charges against a Clermont County man accused of destroying a Flock automatic license plate reader (ALPR). Mohamsson, 31, is of Arab Muslim descent but identifies as an atheist. Senior Egyptian officials reportedly told Trump administration officials that efforts to disarm Hamas cannot advance under Israel’s current government and would have to await the formation of a new government following Israel’s Oct. 27 election, Ynet News reported. The Egyptian officials reportedly argued that policies pursued by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government are strengthening Hamas.

China Firmly Rejects US Demand To Back Its ‘Most Crushing Economic Operation’ Against Iran
China has firmly rejected Washington’s call to join in implementing US sanctions to “squash” Iran’s economy, pushing back against Trump administration pressure to be part of the “toughest sanctions in history” which has marked a new phase of conflict focused on extended economic warfare, Bessent had on Thursday told CNBC: “It is a one-two punch. We have ​the blockade (on Iran), and we are going to have the toughest sanctions in history.” He then vowed, “It is going to work in Iran and we are going to collapse this ⁠regime.”
