Thai Tea Tres Leches Cake

I LOVE tres leches cake! I’ve published my perfect classic version and several variations of this Mexican dessert over the years. (There’s a new one in my upcoming book, too. That’s how much I love tres leches cake!) I find it really fun to play with flavoring the milk syrup and see how I can transform this cake into so many different types.

Today’s version is a recipe I dreamt up with my team, inspired by our love of an afternoon beverage pick-me-up on shoot days. The milk syrup lends itself to flavoring like a milk tea so easily, so we steeped some Thai tea leaves and spices in the milk syrup and came up with this beauty of a cake!

My perfect slice is served with a very generous pour of the milk syrup, so this recipe makes enough to soak the cake and enough to serve with each slice.
