Well, hello, hello, Literary Coven. Welcome to May Eve, Walpurgisnacht, Beltane, however you call it, however you celebrate, here as spring just begins to bloom. I have a little three-card tarot reading for you.
Let’s just get cozy and sink in. I’ll walk you through it, take whatever works for you and give everything else to the soil. Let it become mulch for what’s to come next.
All right, where are we on the Wheel of the Year? Oh yes, the night between worlds.
In folklore, there are times when the veil between the living and the dead grows very thin. Kristin put up a beautiful piece about the spirit of the season, when the veil slips, the bonfires blaze, and we dance with broomsticks raised towards the starlight. At this threshold moment, winter becomes a memory, yet summer is still a promise. It’s the liminal hour when our ancestors whisper, the fickle fae dance in the flame-lit shadows, and souls ascend to their highest becoming on broomsticks, together, in sisterhood. Ah, I love it…
This three-card pull honors the wild and warming half of the year.
The first card is going to be a message from the ancestors that we hear in the slip in the veil.
The second is the card of fire and smoke that we use to charm the Fates and fae.
And the third card is the broomstick upon which we ride to ascend to our highest paths.
Let’s sink in…
