Hi ____!

Take in a big breath of that fresh new year air 👃. We hope this newsletter finds you well-rested and ready to level up your Pilates practice in 2025. Last year, we alternated between thematic exploration and flow, and your feedback has been clear—you greatly benefited from and preferred thematic exploration. As the saying goes, the customer is always right, and we're stoked to prioritize thematic richness this year.

But of course, as with all things Pilates, we must organize before we execute. Here’s a peak at this year’s themes:

2025’s themes follow what we like to call the Kinetic Chain Pyramid, and here a just a few benefits of following this fun format:

  1. Neurological Skill Building 🧠: Each month sharpens your body's ability to control and execute movements, enhancing your motor skills through focused, repetitive practice.

  2. Holistic Integration ♲: By concentrating on one area at a time, we explore the essential role each part plays in the body's overall kinetic health, improving coordination and strength across the system.

  3. Dynamic Adaptability 🧩: Focusing on a specific body part each month enhances your ability to adjust movements to your individual needs, increasing resilience and flexibility in your Pilates practice.

Feet are foundational in managing ground reaction forces that are vital for all physical activities. As you step, your feet not only absorb but also redistribute these forces, playing a crucial role in stabilizing, balancing, and propelling your body forward. Take a baseball pitcher, for instance: the back foot anchors and generates the initial force, while the front foot helps stabilize and transfer this energy through the body, enhancing the power and precision of the pitch.

This principle applies beyond athletics. Your standing posture at your desk and the shoes you wear can significantly influence how you perform everyday tasks, from lifting a child to bending over to pet your dog. We’re focusing on the feet first because their condition profoundly affects every move you make!
