I’m releasing my new book a chapter at a time in pre-edit before it goes to press. I am manipulating the posting dates so the chapters are in order.
This book is for those that set out to build a company and accidentally built a horrible job for themselves. This isn’t a “how to” manual. I’ve written a “how to think” book based on my own experience with transforming businesses into sustainable, profitable companies.
I faced this issue 25 years ago. After operating for two years we were stuck with bad fit clients and barely paying ourselves. Over the next 10 years I learned (the hard way) what I present in this work.
I learned it from people more established than I and by sheer trial and error. It is my hope that the money I wasted and the effort I exerted to right my ship (and countless client ships) helps you avoid the trap or work your way out of it.
Better Clients = “Better Fitting Clients” not necessarily bigger with mega-budgets. For some that might be the case - for others, it may mean they want to serve smaller clients - it’s not about size. It’s about fit.
Higher Fees = you are probably undervaluing and underpricing your work. Correcting your positioning and winning better fit clients leads to being able to bill enough to buy yourself freedom. The freedom to take a vacation, save for retirement, get through lean times and enjoy your work again.
There is nothing theoretical or academic in this book. Everything presented here is lived experience over almost four decades of practice.
