Back in 2007, my late friend and renowned scientist Dr. Mae-Wan Ho made a bold claim: organic agriculture can feed the world. Not only feed it, but do so sustainably, equitably, and without poisoning the planet.
But this vision doesn’t sit well with the corporations—or their shareholders—who benefit from chemical agriculture. These same players dominate Codex Alimentarius, the global regulatory body setting food and farming standards.
Fast-forward to 2025. Another friend, Scott Tips of the National Health Federation, just reported that Codex believes 8.157 billion pounds of pesticides used annually is not enough.
Two radically different visions for the future of food.
