I genuinely believe that AI has a bunch of good uses — none of which involve casual usage by people. AI can be a lifesaver for people who need to operate a business on a shoestring budget or simplify their life with a brainstorming session.
While I’m not a fan of AI, I am cognizant of the fact that it’s not going anywhere. With that said, most of the uses I’ve seen people use AI for aren’t constructive. Those uses either seem to destroy skilled jobs, help them fake a persona so awful people can get dates, or turn a bot into a friend that slowly causes them to have digital psychosis.
One of the more insidious ways AI has started to fuck up our lives is by the use of it to troll others. More specifically AI-powered bot accounts have started to pick apart writers discussing important civil rights.
More specifically, female writers.
