Close Encounters with Brainwashing #3 —Knowing Unbound by Thinking, Time & Space

It’s been over 36 years since the end of the Cold War. I experienced it firsthand, stepping out from behind the Iron Curtain, and leaving communism for the promise of democracy and free-market economy. That period of my life was nothing short of life-shattering. I often marked the moment with a cynical nod to the old curse: “may you live in interesting times.”

At the time, I was angry with myself, and with the society that had shaped me. It felt like nothing short of walking off the set of a Truman Show, and I did not like that. I felt like a puppet pulled by invisible strings despite being well-read, well-educated and pretty independent-minded.

I blamed communism and I found comfort in the new reality: democracy and free-market economy.

The joke was on me.

What I didn’t yet understand then was that the transition itself was another layer of lies and gaslighting, and communism and capitalism were just two sides of the same coin. Different but interconnected.

That new reality also fell apart before my eyes. I stepped out of a “Truman Show” to find myself right into another. Yes, way more sophisticated, more polished, and intoxicating, but ultimately built on very similar mechanisms.

Some of you, especially the Western folks, might say: Come on… How could you even start to compare democratic and economically developed countries with totalitarian and economically lagging communist countries?

Well, I can. It all depends on where you are looking.

The processes I went through prior to, during, and after the transition taught me to recognize the mechanics of propaganda, mind manipulation, and manufactured reality. Today, I don’t intend to go deeper into that, but I don’t want to leave you hanging either, so I will just mention that Maxwell and Soros were two names who shaped the period before, during, and after the transition from communism to market economy. How is it that these two names are significant now as well? You tell me.

More on those details — another time. Today, I just wanted to share that despite experiencing firsthand more “Truman Shows” coming down than the average person, none of that prepared me for the “Truman Show” layers unraveling now.

I don’t know how you feel, but for me it seems that each layer of manipulators is itself manipulated, and some of what passes for awakening feels like a deeper sedation. What remains constant across all the layers of “Truman Shows” is the role of fear itself. Threats change, but fear remains the instrument of control and manipulation at each layer.

The question is: how many more layers of endlessly nested “Truman Shows” are there? Or are we, finally, drawing closer to something true? And why am I asking this now?

I’ve been writing about The Human Advantage for some time — exploring what defines us as human beings at the deepest level. My regular readers are well acquainted with these themes. But as I’ve carried this exploration into the wider world, I keep encountering people who have no frame of reference for any of them. Let’s take intuition, for example. Where does it come from, and what even is it? The same is true of consciousness, creativity, agency, and nearly every theme that makes up The Human Advantage.

These are not obscure academic questions. They are the questions that matter most, and yet they remain, for most people, completely unexamined.

When I say that I will go deeper, I know for certain that I will lose some subscribers as well, but that’s OK.

I will be touching open nerves.

Yes, this journey is not for the lighthearted.

This journey is for the truth-seekers. It’s for everyone who does not want to be sedated, scared, and living sanitized lives.

As I wrote at the very end of my very first article here on Substack back in 2023:

“I am inviting you to join me in encouraging each other to reevaluate our beliefs, to embrace uncertainty, integrate all aspects of being human, cultivate wisdom, and explore and value the richness of our human experience.

It’s an invitation to listen with our hearts, think on our feet, speak truth to bullshit, and act sacred, not scared.

It would be an honor to keep unfolding together the mystery, magic and joy of being human and being alive, as we bring with more easiness health, joy and prosperity in our lives.”

So, nothing changes in that.

We will just have to get way better at listening with our hearts, way better at thinking on our feet and recognizing manipulations, way better at seeing beyond the layers of “bullshit” and “Truman Shows,” and learn that ultimately, “humanness” is in acting sacred, not scared.

We have been brought up worshipping rational and analytical thinking and the brain. We believe that time is divided into past, present and future. And we are convinced that we travel at the speed of a train, an airplane, or a rocket at best.

My hypothesis is that the only way to navigate the infinite layers of “Truman Shows” is to access a form of knowing that transcends the very mechanisms of thinking, time and space that build the layers.

In fact, that’s what intuition, or intuiting, is about: it’s the process of accessing knowing unbound by thinking, time and space.

So, how are we going to explore that hypothesis?

• I will share some of my own experiences.

• I will invite you to do your own explorations.

• We will review other people’s explorations and experiences.

It will be a journey.

Sometimes clarity will suffice, but there will also be a lot of confusion.

I can already tell you that reading (and listening) alone won’t do it. It did not do it for me and it won’t do it for you.

There are a lot of false beliefs which we have made part of our identities, and parting with them is never easy or straightforward. Feeling and experiencing things for yourself, however, usually does it.

Today, we will start with other people’s explorations and experiences — and not just any other people, but governments. We will dive into the scientifically proven, taxpayer-funded government method called Remote Viewing. Previously dismissed as conspiracy theory, today it simply represents the fall of some “Truman Show” layers.

And yes, this was going on on both sides of the Iron Curtain — not surprising at all.

We are going straight to some of the directors of the first layers of the Truman Show. I am talking about the CIA and KGB, straight back into the Cold War and the dawn of globalization. Did I mention already that the end of the Cold War and the beginning of globalization are the same thing? Yep, 100%. More on that later.

Now we are going back to the 1970s, when both sides of the Berlin Wall engaged in Remote Viewing. Yes, Remote Viewing is a practice with a surprisingly long and serious institutional history, financed by taxpayer money on both sides of the Iron Curtain and justified by the desire to gain an advantage in the Cold War.

And let me toot my own horn… While the official narrative was that technology is what ultimately constitutes an advantage, they believed in The Human Advantage. They believed that ultimately, humans trained to perceive reality beyond the boundaries of traditional thinking, time and space, are the ultimate advantage.

Well, CIA and KGB — I could not agree more.

Currently declassified, Remote Viewing remains largely unknown despite being all over the internet, and is still often dismissed as conspiratorial and unscientific. That, by the way, is the best way to cover something: bury it under a lot of information, both true and false.

What do we know about Remote Viewing?

Remote Viewing started in the early 1970s. The US government launched a classified program called Project Stargate, funded by the CIA and the Defense Intelligence Agency. The intent was to counter the Soviet Union’s success in weaponizing parapsychology for espionage. The Soviets called it psychotronics. Such classified psychic and psychotronic research was largely funded and directed by the Soviet military and the Ministry of Defense, with the KGB monitoring and applying it to intercepting Western intelligence.

The goal of the US government with Remote Viewing was to develop it and investigate further whether individuals could perceive distant or hidden targets using something beyond ordinary sensory means. Researchers at Stanford Research Institute conducted the core scientific work. The program was declassified in 1995 and the CIA released thousands of documents, with major document batches progressively released through 2003.

The core claim of Remote Viewing is that a trained individual, given nothing but a set of coordinates or a sealed envelope, can accurately describe a remote location, object, or event across any distance, and across time as well. Precognitive viewing (of the future) and retrocognitive viewing (of the past) were both reported and well documented.

What came out of the experiments is the structured protocol known as Coordinate Remote Viewing, many trained remote viewers, and some pretty dramatic results documented through rigorous scientific methodology.

Remote Viewing is essentially a demonstration of knowing unbound by thinking, time and space. The viewer is trained to bypass analytical thinking (called Analytical Overlay), access raw signal from what in Systemic Constellations we call the Knowing Field, and report without interpretation. The enemy of accurate viewing is the reasoning mind imposing its own narrative.

Let me repeat that.

It was scientifically proven and well documented that a regular human being can be trained to accurately describe a remote location, object, or event they have never seen or experienced across any distance and across time as long as they learn to bypass the reasoning and storytelling mind.

My research found a great deal of scientific study, substantial documentation, and many highly reputable scientists and other specialists continuing to work in this area. Yes, there is also a lot of noise from less reputable individuals, but again, that is just the distortion.

According to an article in the Journal of Scientific Exploration, Vol. 40, No. 1, Spring 2026, “Remote Viewing is a unique perceptual discipline used to acquire information beyond the reach of ordinary physical senses. Remote Viewing has been defined as ‘the ability of a person to access and describe, by mental means alone, information blocked from ordinary perception by distance, shielding, or time.’”

The same article notes that this intelligence-gathering method is also “the subject of research and practical applications in the civilian sector,” and “in recent years, remote viewing has experienced a resurgence in popularity, finding applications across diverse fields such as intelligence, medicine, business, science, and financial forecasting.” It is also being successfully used in “crime solving, locating missing objects, and financial forecasting.”

Can everyone eventually learn to do it? The same research claims that “the most important criterion here is the viewer’s awareness of his or her own mental processes. The viewer must be able to differentiate target information from mental noise and know himself well enough to clearly report how mental images are constructed and how he interprets them.”

So, yes, Remote Viewing is a skill that can be trained.

And yet, from a young age we train ourselves to do exactly the opposite. We love to process data, analyze it, and construct sentences describing it — just as AI does — and we are afraid that AI does it better and faster than us.

So, our first task is to start using the real capacities of our brain and heart for what they were built for: receiving deeper knowing from the real “world wide web.” And yes, the World Wide Web we have become addicted to is doing a very effective job of preventing us from seeing any further.

My personal experiences confirm what these agencies, scientists, and private organizations found— we can access knowing unbound by thinking, time and space. In my next articles, I will dive deeper into the mechanisms of Remote Viewing, because it is one of the skills that comprise The Human Advantage. As I have already said, many government and private agencies know that ultimately, humans trained to perceive reality beyond the boundaries of traditional thinking, time and space, are the ultimate advantage.

In my opinion, the mechanisms by which we are kept from developing these skills are:

• Fear: the ever-present, ultimate control mechanism keeping you overthinking what may happen in the future, and overcomplicating what happened in the past.

• Counteracting it through formal education by prioritizing the very skills that suppress the development of this particular capacity.

• Ridiculing it as conspiracy: I’ve done it and you have done it- raising an eyebrow at another “crazy thing” and moving on with the rationalities of life.

• Burying it under tons of information, disinformation, and algorithmic noise, making it impossible for a busy person to find it and make sense of it.

• The dominant economic principle that governs us - the claim that wants are infinite and resources are scarce. I believe it is exactly the opposite.

Remote Viewing sits right inside the Truman Show’s societal layers — suppressed, ridiculed, and yet documented well enough that dismissal is no longer possible. Stay with me for a further, deeper dive into it, and much more.
