This report kicks off the week with what I’m keeping an eye on, including key levels for the QQQs and insights into the Mag 7 stocks that have my attention ahead of the start of 2026. It also features my watchlist, spotlighting the stocks I’ll be tracking at today’s open.

  1. The U.S. renewed strikes on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz, including reported damage to oil infrastructure on Kharg Island, Iran’s main export terminal. Iran responded by attacking U.S. facilities and targets in Qatar and the UAE, while declaring diplomacy ineffective and again claiming the Strait was closed. Shipping traffic has fallen sharply, though some vessels are still passing.

  2. White House plans to bring together utility companies and data centre developers for a voluntary pledge designed to ensure rapid growth in electricity demand from AI does not drive up power bills for households and businesses

  3. Spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces says the Saudi attack on Sanaa airport will not go unanswered and unpunished.

  4. The UAE reportedly adjusted offshore oil pricing to support non-Hormuz options, and Kpler noted no LNG tanker transits through the Strait of Hormuz since Saturday.

  5. UK Government says UK together with EU member states is today attributing the attack on Poland’s energy grid to Russia’s FSB centre 16
